Known as The Seeker Queen, this massive insect-like being commands the hostile bugs in the Mistlands. She’s also one of Valheim’s most demanding boss encounters, as she combines brutal melee and poison attacks while frequently summoning Seekers into the fray. For players approaching the endgame in Valheim, this guide can help you defeat The Queen. So, keep reading!

Where to Find The Queen in Valheim

Valheim The Queen Location First, one important clarification: Moder is the dragon queen of the Mountain biome in Valheim, which makes her different from The Queen. While the mother of dragons can be found high above the ground, you can find The Queen inside an Infested Citadel in the Mistlands. You’ll know you’ve found the boss’s location when you’re in front of a massive locked door. Interacting with it tells you that you must use a Sealbreaker. Craft this key by finding and using 9x Sealbreaker Fragments from the different Infested Mines across the Mistlands. Unlike other bosses in Valheim, you don’t need a summoning altar or ritual to fight The Queen. Instead, simply enter the Infested Citadel, and you’ll find this massive, alien-like being waiting for you. Re-summoning this boss after her initial defeat requires 3x Soldier Seeker Trophy instead of crafting and using another Sealbreaker.

How to Defeat The Queen

Valheim The Queen Preparation, patience, and careful control of the Infested Citadel are the ingredients for success against The Queen. Fortunately, the boss’s arena is fairly friendly to character build variations. Confident melee weapon users can attack this boss head-on, while those more attuned to ranged attacks can use the area’s various vantage points. Melee builds can also take advantage of the Carapace armor to mitigate damage. Ranged and magic-focused adventurers, on the other hand, can use their best armor for this fight, but don’t forget to consume Eitr-based foods. Speaking of consumables, make sure to bring strong health- and stamina-restoring items. Additionally, don’t forget to consume Poison Resistance meads before and during the fight, as some of The Queen’s attacks can inflict Poison. Valheim Defeat The Queen It’s also important to understand how The Queen moves and attacks, so you can block, dodge, and counter accordingly. The moveset that you should be watching out for is as follows:
  • Teleport: The Queen burrows and resurfaces within the Infested Citadel.
  • Rush: The Queen performs a crawling arm-slash attack in a wide arc in front of her.
  • Bite: The Queen lunges and bites nearby players, inflicting Poison in a narrow forward arc.
  • Call: The Queen roars, spawning Seekers and Seeker broods into the arena.
  • Spit: The Queen fires multiple explosive Poison projectiles that spawn a Seeker brood on impact.
  • Slap: The Queen performs a wide, frontal swing.
  • Pierce AoE: The Queen stabs the ground with all four arms, dealing damage to nearby players.
Solo players will continuously find themselves on their toes, as The Queen likes to spawn Seekers throughout the fight. Teams in co-op Valheim servers should understand the importance of dividing roles. For instance, some players should draw continuous aggro to The Queen while the others deal with the spawned minions. Those who take the mantle of crowd-controlling adds may consider using weapons such as the Demolisher and the Staff of Embers. Also, use the Infested Citadel’s upper floors to create distance and recover stamina. Equip the Feather Cape to reduce fall damage to zero when the need to drop off from a high ledge arises.

The Queen Loot & Rewards

Valheim The Queen Loot and Rewards Defeating The Queen rewards players with 5x Majestic Carapace pieces and 1x The Queen Trophy. Mounting the trophy at the appropriate Forsaken altar and interacting with it grants players a 300-second buff with the following effects:
  • +100% Increase to Eitr Regeneration
  • -100% Sneak Stamina Usage
  • +50% Resistance to Poison
As for the Majestic Carapace, use one unit with 5x Black Marble and 5x Bronze to build the Artisan Press. This workstation lets you craft Ballista ammunition and the materials needed to make the Shield Core, an essential item to survive the Ashlands.
