10 Things to Be Excited About in Hytale Early Access
Posted on by
Hytale is full of features we will soon be able to explore, including NPCs, mod tools, and so much more. So, today, we narrow it down and list our top ten things to be excited about in Hytale Early Access.
Hytale early access will have its fair share of bugs as progress is made over time. However, the Hytale team has provided temporary reduced pricing to make up for the troubles, with the standard edition of Hytale being only $19.99. Even those who will not be playing until release may want to consider grabbing the game now at this great price.
Every edition of Hytale early access is confirmed to include early supporter outfits and capes that will no longer be available after the official release. These exist as thanks from the Hytale team for supporting development, but more importantly, serve as proof you were there from the beginning. The outfits can also be mixed and matched, making it particularly exciting for those who get them all with Cursebreaker edition!
While the specifics have not yet been revealed, character customization was a major focus before Hytale’s shutdown, complete with a full wardrobe and animations for each player character. Even if only a fraction of these features remain in early access, Hytale’s character customization will be one that allows players to truly express themselves in countless ways. A highlight just recently reconfirmed for early access was the ability to pick traits of popular fantasy species, such as elf ears and demon horns, greatly expanding customization possibilities.
Adventure mode may not be available right away, but we are still getting exploration mode, which will have a bulk of what most wanted to play! Survival elements, crafting, building, RPG mechanics, NPCs, and our first look at Orbis are just a few aspects that await. And if that were not already enough, thousands of items and blocks are confirmed to be done and ready for use on early access release day.
One of Hytale’s most defining and exciting features is its combat, which varies drastically depending on the type of weapons you decide to use in-game. For example, a sword will have its own attacks and abilities that require a different skill set and playstyle than daggers or bows. Available right out of the gate, this will keep things fresh with lots of new ways to play while also allowing the mastery of particular weapon types to shine when bosses are eventually added to the game.
NPCs, and in particular Kweebecs, were showcased heavily before Hytale shut down. While we don’t know how many of the NPC features actually survived, we do know for certain that over 100 NPCs will be available as soon as early access goes live. That’s a lot of creatures to discover! Hopefully, the unique cultures that defined their behaviours are among the features we get to test day one!
Creative mode is one of the most complete aspects of Hytale, overflowing with tools that would each need to be a plugin or mod in other games. Flight, copy, paste, scripted terrain brushes, and even custom models are just a few examples available for testing day one. And when combined with over 1000 blocks and items, and the ability to modify the game mechanics from a menu, it creates a canvas ripe for creativity on an unparalleled scale.
The Hytale developers have made it clear how important they consider mods and their creators, both in their words and through in-game features. Hytale comes complete with an in-game mod browser, players automatically download any mods they need when connecting to servers, and developer-supported mod tools are already available for use. Gone are the days of downloading extra clients and editing files just to play with a mod or two!
With full third-party server support, Hytale server owners will have complete control over how their server is run. This includes basic management as well as the ability to modify everything, down to the game mechanics, through plugins and mods that are automatically downloaded by those attempting to join. These features combine to allow for each and every Hytale server to be truly unique, with the most creative among them rising to the top of the server menu.
Last but not least on our list of things to be excited about in the Hytale early access is witnessing the journey. Hytale has the potential to be a massive game, and if what the developers claim is true, updates will be coming fast. It is going to be an adventure that is buggy, hectic, and maybe even frustrating at times, but being able to see it come together block by block will be well worth it when Hytale is one of the most popular games on the globe.
