Celebrating Soulmask's 2nd Anniversary: 10 Things to Do in Soulmask in 2026
Posted on by
If you can believe it, Soulmask is already two years old! That's right, the open-world survival title with plenty of god-smacking action has been in players' hands for a good, long while. However, for most of that time, the game was in Early Access. Now, it's fully launched in 1.0, and there's a whole lot more to see and do. Below, we've outlined the best stuff you can do for the Soulmask anniversary in 2026. Let's take a look!
Alongside the release of Soulmask 1.0, its first major DLC, Shifting Sands, also arrived. This enormous content drop brought a whole new region for players to explore. With its sweeping sands and Egyptian-mythology-inspired locales, it brought even more visual variety to the game. Not to mention the new world is huge with even more exploration opportunities. As you scurry from one pyramid to another, you can find new NPC camps, dungeons, massive bosses, and more.
It wouldn't be Soulmask without masks! As part of the Shifting Sands DLC, there are now four new masks to enjoy. Each one is themed around an Egyptian god and grants you powers befitting mythological royalty. Of course, finding the masks is half the fun before you can actually use them. The flight-giving Horus Mask is granted to you early on, but the remaining three are guarded by fierce bosses. Take them on and make their power yours.
If you played Soulmask in the past before stepping away for a while, don't worry — there's a whole new onboarding tutorial as part of the 1.0 release. While following this tutorial would mean starting a new character, that's sometimes a great choice when you haven't played a game for a bit.
Following the new tutorial is a great way to understand the game's systems, the changes that have been made, and to get your character started with one foot forward. The combination of open-world exploration and tribal management can be daunting to the uninitiated, so take your time to learn how Soulmask works.
As part of 1.0 and the Shifting Sands DLC, how you manage and upgrade your tribes has had a few changes. For starters, the Training Ground is a new area where you can fine-tune your tribes. Now you can improve and customize combat techniques and talents to ensure your armies are custom-made for the specific tasks you have in mind. New progression systems also give the tribal management a more rewarding feel as you continue to spread your influence throughout the land.
As has always been the case in Soulmask, you can build enormous bases. Now, however, the base building has been refined and expanded. New pieces and new building mechanics have been added to give you even greater control over your home's look and feel. Free rotation, auto-alignment, and even an Unlimited Build Mode will allow you to bring your wildest creations to life.
After you've built the base of your dreams, you'll need to defend it. Whether you're playing on a PvE or PvP server, your home will eventually come under attack. To keep it safe, you'll need to have more than architectural beauty in mind when building your home. Providing your tribesmen with Arrow Towers, barricades, and other defenses can be the difference between victory and defeat when evil hordes come knocking.
If you're looking for some new challenges on your return to Soulmask, look no further than the game's newest bosses! Thanks to the Shifting Sands DLC and 1.0 update, you can battle the Soulcall Hound, Savagehorn Tribe Leader, Sobek Crocodile, Onyx Scarab, and the mighty Mysterious Strong One!
As part of the Shifting Sands DLC, you're no longer earthbound when building. That's right! You can now build an airship and fly it across the land however you see fit. Once you've built your air fortress, you can take it sailing to explore all that the world has to offer. You can also use it to sew destruction and rain hellfire down upon your foes. Just watch out for rival airships!
While Soulmask originally had just one game mode in early access, that's expanded quickly thanks to the 1.0 update. Returning players can take on a total of four game modes in 2026, letting you shake up your gameplay experience. These game modes include:
Finally, the best part of Soulmask is that you don't have to play it alone. With a group of friends by your side, you can see all that the massive world has to offer. Work together to form insurmountable tribes, build interconnected bases, or take to the skies on mounts or a custom-built airship. Once you've all come to grips with the game, you can then turn on one another for some friendly PvP fun. Or, you can help each other get as strong as possible to take on the game's most challenging bosses. Gather your crew and fly into all that Soulmask has to offer.

- The base version of the game lets you start from scratch. You'll have to scrape by, slowly form alliances, and keep yourself alive as you grind to become the most powerful being alive.
- Tribe Mode
- This focuses more on the tribal management portion of Soulmask. You'll have some passive boosts to get you through the early game more quickly so that you can start commanding and conquering without delay.
- Warrior Mode
- As the name implies, this mode is all about brutal and bloody combat. It gets you into the action with less focus on survival and even removes some survival elements, such as items dropping on death. However, the enemies you face will be tougher and ready to match your bloodlust.
- Creative Mode
- Not worried about the story or trying to survive? Creative mode allows you to relax, enjoy the game's visuals, and bring your imagination to life.
