Five Minecraft Horror Modpacks for Halloween 2026

5: VerityCraft

• Author: Craftverse66

Centered on the famous Verity fan mod and the ThatMob series that inspired it, VerityCraft focuses not on monster count, but on creating a frightening, tension-filled atmosphere. Fog, unexplained noises, and encounters that may or may not be happening are just a few examples of how this is done. But that doesn't mean nothing is lurking out there. There is, and it is waiting. VerityCraft by Craftverse66 offers a brand-new world of horror to explore, while Verity stays helpfully by your side.

4: From the Fog

• Author: SoumXD
• Link: CurseForge

From the Fog by SoumXD, the very same modpack played by CaseOh, takes a different approach to Minecraft horror and instead creates a beautiful world overflowing with new biomes, structures, and animals to explore. But hidden among all that wonder is an underlying, terrifying darkness. Sometimes something watches from a distance, footsteps follow you, or entities linger at the edge of the screen as you close your eyes to sleep. Few modpacks balance regular Minecraft and horror as well as this!

3: Endless Horror

• Author: GMoneyyX2
• Link: CurseForge

For those who want pure horrifying chaos, few modpacks do it better than Endless Horror by GMoneyyX2! Nearly every famous horror mod from across all genres is found within this modpack, it comes with shaders that can be just as scary as the monsters, and even the horribly transformed world can feel like an enemy at times. Those trying this modpack should be ready to never know a moment of peace, and if one is found, chances are it’s a jump scare. Endless Horror is not for the faint of heart.

2: Into The Backrooms

• Author: Kamussy
• Link: CurseForge

Into The Backrooms by Kamussy begins like any other Minecraft adventure, until accidentally clipping through the world. Suddenly, and without warning, buzzing lights will be heard, and endless halls of yellow will stand on all sides. Now, you must make it through multiple iconic levels of The Backrooms to get back out alive. The stunning visuals within this modpack perfectly capture the liminal feeling of these spaces and make it hard to remember it is Minecraft being played. And, of course, entities are usually following just off-screen. Who could have guessed that one of the best versions of The Backrooms would be in Minecraft?

1: DREAD

• Author: Arrenek
• Link: CurseForge

Finally, at number one, we have DREAD by ARRenek. This modpack removes the standard hostile mobs and instead fills the world with horrifying entities that relentlessly stalk and hunt the player at night. And, unfortunately, the fact that you can have a gun does not make it any less scary. Villagers have been overhauled to reflect the world, new weapon progression leads all the way up to rifles, and missions are present for those who live long enough to find them. Each mod has been carefully selected to curate the one-of-a-kind traumatic atmosphere that few survive. Will you be among them?
