Grappling Hooks in Terraria: An Overview & How to Use

As of Version 1.4.4.9, 27 hooks exist in Terraria, with some options found exclusively in Hardmode. By default, pressing the “E” keyboard key will hook and propel the user to the hooked location. Most craftable hooks can be made when near an Iron or Lead Anvil, except the Lunar Hook. Additionally, the standard pulling speed of most hooks is 56 mph, with a few exceptions. Note: Equipping a hook for the first time in Terraria grants the “Hold on Tight” Achievement.
