Rust Abandoned Military Base Monument Guide: Notable Locations, Loot, & More
Publicado em por
The Abandoned Military Base in Rust seems innocent at first glance, but dismissing it as merely beginner ground is to underestimate the subtle art of opportunity within. This monument presents itself as a landscape of calculated risk and concealed reward. Those who enter its lonely tents will receive their much-deserved rewards, but not without some resistance.
New survivors, and those spawning after a fresh Rust server wipe, rejoice! The Abandoned Military Base is among some of the beginner-friendly monuments in Rust. Although the region lacks top-tier loot, it generally doesn’t have difficult challenges, such as keycard puzzles and high-level scientists.
Speaking of scientists, the enemies are fairly spread out throughout the monument. That way, players have time to find cover and reposition without fear of getting surrounded by hostile NPCs.
Most, if not all, areas within the Abandoned Military Base are also radiation-free zones. So, players can leave the Hazmat Suits behind in lieu of stronger armor combinations.
Remember, this beginner-friendly monument is a haven for new players. That means it’s safe to assume that other players have the same idea of heading to this location for a chance at quick looting opportunities. Hence, survivors should expect more PvP action in this area as opposed to dealing with some scientists and desert fauna.
Perhaps the feature that sets the Abandoned Military Base apart from other monuments is the MLRS Strike System. However, its barrels are empty, requiring players to reload it with fresh ammunition. Players with explosive ammo can interact with the system’s console to rain fire on unsuspecting scientists or enemy survivors.

Abandoned Military Base Notable Locations & Loot
Command Post Tents
Rust survivors can identify the command post tents by the two abandoned vehicles outside. Inside are four loot containers. Prepare for a short fight, as one scientist typically spawns inside the small establishment.Barracks Tents
A medium-sized collection of tents with a van sticking out of one of the entrances. Head inside to find four loot containers. Thankfully, no hostile scientists are going to hinder your looting excursion within. The Bunker
Although it’s not possible to enter the bunker, its surroundings offer opportunities for looting. In particular, around three loot containers can be found near the entrance. However, a scientist typically patrols the area. Dispose of that one hostile NPC for an undisturbed looting expedition.Ruin with Water Towers
This monument is home to many ruins, but you can add one abandoned building to your looting run while you’re in this monument. Particularly, look for the concrete ruin with two water towers. A loot container can be found inside, along with one patrolling scientist.Kitchen & Mess Hall Tents
Although seemingly small, the kitchen & mess hall tents have several lootable crates. Another scientist can also be found near the area, so deal with this NPC first before rummaging through the containers inside.Large Oil Refinery
Survivors looking for additional Low-Grade Fuel can head to the monument’s large oil refinery. Apart from this essential resource, four loot containers are within the area, and also one “disposable” scientist NPC.Medical Tent
An abandoned white van sits outside the medical tent, allowing survivors to recognize this location from afar. Enter the large opening to find four lootable containers. Like the large oil refinery and the bunker entrance, a scientist (that you can defeat) patrols the area.Shooting Range
Another scientist can be found guarding this area. Deal with that NPC, and loot the two containers in the area.Small Oil Refinery
Look around the monument for a large, red Zenlabs fuel container to find the small oil refinery. Like its larger counterpart, survivors can find Low-Grade Fuel in this area, along with three lootable containers and a roving scientist.Vehicle Hangar
Survivors looking for additional components to build their vehicles can find them in the vehicle hangar. This location is also home to three loot containers, but a lone scientist may prevent some new players from proceeding inside smoothly.Crie seu próprio
