Hytale Update 2: Big Changes & How to Play

At the time of writing, Hytale Update 2 is only available in the Pre-Release branch. Interested players can jump into the game’s new offerings by heading to the Settings menu from the launcher. Here, select “pre-release” from the dropdown box below Patchline. Exit out of the Settings menu, and then click “Install” to download and install the resources, which include the update’s new content and features. Launch the game after updating it, and you can start by changing your character’s main features with new customization options. For instance, this update aims to let players complete their fiendish looks with new vampire and orc mouth variants. Additionally, there’s the new Necromancy Grimoire, which lets you command a skeletal squad from bone piles. Various new gameplay and balance optimizations join the fray. Some notable mentions include refactored ore placements, faster rail karts, and better pickaxe progression. Also, prepare yourself for more trouble as you head deeper into Orbis’s abyss, as the buffed Magma Rhino Toad is waiting for your arrival. Let’s not forget about the new toggle armor visibility option that can easily be accessed from the inventory screen. Cosmetics & Customization

• New mask face accessories (available for all editions)
• Armor slot visibility toggle (host-enforced for PvP/immersion)
• New mouth variants: Vampire, Cute, Orc (all editions)
• Berserker haircut tiling fixed

Gameplay & Balance

• New magic! Necromancy grimoire! Drops from Skeleton Praetorian, lets you raise up to 5 skeletal minions from bone piles (5-min duration or until the summoner dies)
• Adamantite now requires a Thorium or Cobalt pickaxe
• Pickaxe progression reworked: mining speed now scales with pickaxe quality
• Faster rail karts (still not great, but faster!)
• Tower exploit fixed (NPCs can now throw rocks at players)
