Enshrouded is now officially one year old! To celebrate, the developers at Keen Games have released the game's fifth content update, which is live now! With that, let's dive into all of the exciting new additions coming to Enshrouded in Update #5.

Enshrouded Update #5 Patch Notes: All New Features in Pact of the Flame

Enshrouded update #5, also known as Pact of the Flame, might not be as enormous as the Souls of the Frozen Frontier update, but it has plenty of game fixes and features that fans have been asking for.

Social Features

Communicating with others just got a whole lot easier, thanks to three new additions.

• Text Chat: Players can now communicate with anyone on a server using text chat. Hosts and server admins can also toggle the feature.
• Voice Chat: Players can communicate in-game with voice chat that's either global or based on proximity. Again, hosts and server admins have full control over implementation of the feature.
• Emotes: If you don't feel like texting or hopping into a voice channel, you can use emotes. You can access the emote wheel on keyboard with the 'X' button or by using the down button on a d-pad with a controller.

Building Improvements

First-Person Camera

Now when you're working on creating the perfect base of operations in Enshrouded, you can swap to a first-person camera. This is only available as a toggle when using a Construction Hammer, selecting a prop for placement, or when equipping one of the new building tools that we'll discuss below, but it should make precision adjustments much easier to pull off.

Full Prop Rotation

When placing props, you can now rotate them in all axes. This means decorations can be placed in any way you like so that your living space is fully customized. Furniture pieces can only be rotated around the vertical axis still, but anything else can be rotated however you'd like.

Food, Drinks, and Potions

New props have been added to lend your home decor even further personalization. Plates, boards, and even coasters will allow you to give your dining halls a more lived-in look and feel. All of these can be crafted via the farmer NPC as soon as you unlock wood planks.

New Tools: Overgrowth Editing & Building Block Decay

When customizing the outside of your home, you can now use the new Overgrowth tool that lets you either add or remove materials like ivy. This can be crafted at the farmer NPC. Similarly, you can also craft a new tool at the collector NPC that allows you to give your buildings the appearance of being worn and slightly ruined. This doesn't actually affect their stability, but it will give the walls and edges of your camp some additional aesthetic flavoring.

Gameplay Improvements

A handful of tweaks have been made to make Enshrouded more enjoyable and in direct response to player feedback.

• Skills can now be individually reset within the skill tree.
• Visual parry indications are now present for enemies and projectiles that didn't have them before.
• The Dune Armadillo is a new tamable farming animal found in the Kindlewastes.
