Welcome to the very first BisectHosting gaming news roundup! The gaming industry has so many moving pieces, new releases, and updates that it can be hard to keep track of everything. That's why we're here! We've gathered the latest and greatest highlights of gaming news from the last two weeks so that you can quickly see what's new and what's next.

Major Multiplayer & Co-op Game Launches

Roadcraft

It's time to get digging! The cooperative construction of Roadcraft comes to us from Saber Interactive, the creators of MudRunner and SnowRunner. In Roadcraft, you and your pals are in charge of a heavy machinery company that restores areas affected by natural disasters. You have access to dump trucks, log grabbers, asphalt rollers, cranes, dozers, and more. Collect the resources you need, find the correct machines for the job, and explore a variety of unique scenarios and environments. Grab up to three friends and set things right! Available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC for $39.99.

Elden Ring: Nightreign

Elden Ring Nightreign spectral hawk screenshot The latest release from legendary studio FromSoftware is a bit different from their usual titles. While most of their games feature cooperative play, Elden Ring: Nightreign is designed entirely as a multiplayer experience. You and two friends (or two strangers if you head into matchmaking) are dropped into a shrinking map. As you explore, you must gather weapons, spells, and abilities to make yourself stronger. Work alongside your allies to defeat powerful foes from Elden Ring, other FromSoftware titles, and the all-new Night Lord bosses. Available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC for $39.99.

Revenge of the Savage Planet

The follow-up to 2020's Journey to the Savage Planet, it's time once again to brave some wacky and, well, savage planets! Developed by a new team at Raccoon Logic Studios, Revenge of the Savage Planet also has some new features. Like the first game, you can explore every inch of the four dangerous and cartoonish planets with a friend. This time, however, it's a third-person adventure. As a result, there's a stronger emphasis on action-filled platforming. Of course, there's still plenty of zany and dynamic co-op that will require perfect teamwork. Don't worry — if you get eaten, stomped, or blown up, you can always try again! Available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC for $39.99.

Among Us 3D

Among Us 3D Red Killer Screenshot Once again, an impostor is among us! Now in 3D! This new dimension on the massive multiplayer hit allows you and your pals to work together (and against one another) in an all-new perspective. The additional dimension isn't all that's new, however, as Among Us 3D also includes new game modes, limited-time events, proximity voice chat, crossplay, and a variety of twists on the ship maintenance minigames that fans know and love. Like the original title, Among Us 3D will receive plenty of updates in the future from its developer, Innersloth, for players to look forward to. Available on PS5, Meta Quest 1 & 2, and PC for $9.99.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time

It's been 13 years since the original Fantasy Life title was released by Level-5 on the Nintendo 3Ds, but a sequel has finally arrived! In Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, you set out on a mysterious adventure. Skeleton dragons, ancient islands, and portals through time are only the beginning! With 14 different Lives to explore and switch between, you can spend your days as a magician, cook, angler, or whatever scratches your fantasy life itch. Additionally, you can work on leveling up your Lives alongside your friends in cooperative play while discovering all the secrets that this magical world has to offer. Available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC for $59.99.

Hardware & Platform News

Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo Switch 2 artwork The long-awaited successor to the Nintendo Switch is almost here! Aptly named the Nintendo Switch 2, this hybrid console aims to be a beefier experience for both living room players and those on the go. It's a little bit larger and heavier than the first Switch, but it has super-powered guts by comparison. 256 GB of internal storage, support for HDR10, VRR up to 120 Hz, and a custom processor made by NVIDIA make this the beefiest console that Nintendo has ever produced. Luckily, it seems that there is plenty of third-party support planned alongside Nintendo's world-class exclusives, with the promise of crossplay and multiplayer experiences to come. Available for pre-order at select retailers for $449.99.

Upcoming Hardware

Both AMD and NVIDIA are hard at work creating new high-powered PC components. Rumors are swirling that we can expect the AMD Zen 5 Threadripper CPUs to launch soon, specifically the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 9975WX with 32 cores and the Ryzen Threadripper 9965WX with 24 cores. Meanwhile, more rumors are pointing to NVIDIA creating new GeForce RTX GPUs. These are, reportedly, the GeForce RTX 5070 Super and the 5080 Super, which should have 18GB and 24GB of VRAM, respectively. If they exist, these super graphics cards should offer a bit more VRAM than the 5080 and 5070 models that are currently available.

PlayStation State of Play Rumored for June

PlayStation has been relatively quiet in 2025, and fans expect to see a State of Play in June. Not only is it the month of gaming news, but rumors are bouncing around that Sony does actually have something planned. A State of Play focused on new first- and third-party titles could show us some of the live service and multiplayer projects that Sony is still working on and more of what to expect for Bungie's Marathon later this year.

Industry Trends and Business Developments

Investment & M&A Recovery

The video game industry had a rough year in 2024, with oceans of layoffs. and 2025 has also seen plenty of layoffs. However, investment and mergers in gaming bounced back in Q1 of 2025, with $7.8 billion in deals. This is a huge boost and the largest quarter since 2023. IPO activity has also increased, hopefully indicating a renewed and growing confidence in the industry.

Developer Optimism

While many developers have lost their jobs in the last few years, things might finally be turning around in 2025. Roughly 77% of developers expect industry growth throughout the year, and nearly 90% of studios have at least one new title in their pipelines. The industry is seeing a focus on live service games, cross-platform play, and new uses of AI to hopefully reduce development costs while increasing creative flexibility.
