How to Fast Travel in Windrose

In Windrose, fast traveling can be important no matter what your goals are at any given time. Whether you're scouring neighboring islands for raw materials, fighting mighty foes in dungeons, navigating difficult quests, or simply exploring, it's a great way to navigate the map without having to run along old paths or sail back and forth as you progress. But to be able to fast travel, you'll first need to get a particular item that enables it - the Fast Travel Bell.

How to Unlock (Discover) the Fast Travel Bell

The Windrose Fast Travel Bell is, thankfully, a very early-game item to run into. It won't take extreme exploration or bossing to get it done. Despite its Rare status, the bell can be unlocked in two different ways right from the starting island. The first method simply takes mining Copper Ore, getting charcoal from the Charcoal Kiln (by heating wood), and then smithing the Copper Ingots in the Smelting Furnace. Once you discover your first Copper Ingot, you'll unlock the Fast Travel Bell schematic. The second way to discover the Fast Travel Bell is to find it on the starting island via a Shipwreck, Smuggler's Cache, or Abandoned Buccaneer Camp, though some of these areas may require a fight first.

How to Craft the Fast Travel Bell & Crafting Recipe

Once you've unlocked the Fast Travel Bell schematic, crafting it is very simple. In fact, it can be done right from your basic Level 1 Workbench! Simply bring 10 Copper Ingots and 3 Rope to your workbench and craft away.

How to Use the Fast Travel Bell

It's important to note that while the bell is simple to unlock and craft, it isn't a permanent solution to fast travel. Each individual Fast Travel Bell lets players build one fast-travel point. So while you can freely fast-travel between locations, you'll need more bells to establish more fast-travel points. These points are shared between players on the same Windrose server, so if your allies have placed them, they'll be accessible to everyone else as well. To make things easy, we recommend that your first fast travel point be at your base, so you can always return to safety in a pinch. Each fast-travel point also doesn't just consume a bell but also requires 20 pieces of wood to place. So ensure you have enough on hand to mark your favorite spots. Setting up your map of fast-travel points may take some time and effort. But for every minute you put into the process, you'll be more thankful for it later as you navigate. It's perfect for marking resource locations you know you'll return to. It also lets you connect your bases, ensuring you can keep up with your growth as you go. Fast Travel Bells are also incredible for keeping on you while you go on dangerous loot adventures. That way, you can revisit a safe place to drop off loot, heal up, and refresh your food buffs.
