And the development team at Funcom has prepared a massive gift for players as part of the celebration: Conan Exiles Enhanced, a free update that will bring a giant visual upgrade and expansion of the game's content. Conan Exiles Enhanced Release Date

We don't have to wait long before the fully upgraded world of Conan Exiles Enhanced is in our hands. The Conan Exiles Enhanced update goes live on Tuesday, May 5th! When it arrives, it will be available as a completely free upgrade for all players. While this is great news, it's important to note the free visual overhaul will only be available on PC via Steam on May 5. However, the developers have stated on their website that they are considering bringing the update to the Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms in the future, but there are no "current plans" to do so.

What's New in the Conan Exiles Enhanced Update? (Unofficial Patch Notes)

The star of the show in this update is the huge visual overhaul. Every inch of every location has been improved graphically. However, making everything prettier isn't all that this Enhanced update will bring to Conan Exiles. Better performance, new rendering technology, and a host of other under-the-hood changes have been made to "modernize" the Conan Exiles experience on Unreal Engine 5. With large updates like this to massive multiplayer games, there are often concerns about what happens to your preexisting characters. Don't worry — you can bring your saves from the current version of the game to the Enhanced edition. Additionally, the option to create multiple characters on a single account will be available for the first time ever. That makes May 5 the perfect time to start an all-new character and see everything the update brings in a fresh gameplay file. But wait! That's still not everything. When the update goes live, players can freely journey from the Exiled Lands to the Isle of Siptah. In the past, players had to choose between the base game location and DLC. Now, they're combined into a unified, immersive experience. Players still need to purchase the Isle of Siptah separately, but the entire world of Conan Exiles is now one, fully-explorable whole. Though this process will introduce some complications, as we cover below, make sure you and your character are prepared for the process!

Preparing For the Conan Exiles Enhanced Update

According to developers Funcom, "If you play on an official UE4 Exiled Lands server on Steam, your server will be updated to UE5 with everything carrying forward in the update. Your character, followers, and bases should not be affected. This does not apply to Isle of Siptah servers, however. The island itself has been merged with the Exiled Lands, which allows for a better experience in switching between the two maps, but this required a change to the physical coordinates of the island. As such, bases on the Isle of Siptah cannot be preserved in the UE5 update." There are a few things to know for those playing on dedicated servers. First, the Enhanced update of the game will be able to read all save data from your current game. However, the developers strongly advise making backups before the update arrives, just in case. Additionally, bases and player-built structures on the Isle of Siptah will be lost, as the developers mentioned. This is due to the merging with the Exiled Lands. However, this transfer tool can put Isle of Siptah characters on an Exiled Lands server to save that character, their inventory, and progress before the update.
