Known for being Terraria's canonical final boss, this eldritch horror can and will decimate anyone and any Pal that gets in its way. Despite its challenging nature, it's not unbeatable. So, here's our guide on how to summon and beat the Moon Lord in Palworld.

How to Summon Moon Lord in Palworld

Like summoning Bellanoir, the first raid boss in Palworld, beckoning Moon Lord to appear requires an item, but this time it’s the Celestial Sigil. Players can find the Celestial Sigil schematic by capturing or defeating the Eye of Cthulhu boss in the new Terraria Dungeon at the Sealed Realm of Terraria Island southeast of Fisherman’s Point. After acquiring the schematic for the Celestial Sigil, craft the summoning item at a Primitive Workbench or a higher-tier variant of the crafting station using 100x Hallowed Bar. Like its origins, Palworld players can farm Hallowed Bars by capturing and butchering Terraria Pals, such as slimes and bats. Next, build a Palbox in a location far from your base. The new Palbox aims to create a workable perimeter for you to place a Summoning Altar. Note that 1x Celestial Sigil and 1x Summoning Altar will be consumed each time the Moon Lord is summoned. Also, each Summoning Altar costs 100x Stone and 20x Paldium Fragment to make.

How to Beat Moon Lord in Palworld

Unlike the Dark-type Bellanoir, the Moon Lord in Palworld is a non-elemental raid boss. That means this powerful being from Terraria doesn't have elemental strengths or weaknesses. Before getting to the strategies, it’s also important to mention that the Moon Lord has a unique mechanic for players to deal massive damage to it. This system is as follows:

• Deal damage to the eyes on its hands until they’re out of their sockets
• Deal damage to the eye on its forehead until it’s out of its socket
• Deal damage to the “heart” until it closes or until the Moon Lord is defeated

The Moon Lord's chest will close after some time or when you deal sufficient damage to its "heart." Then, the cycle repeats until the boss is defeated. Moving forward, the best Pals to summon for this fight are those with the highest health and/or defense stats. Remember, you'll be the primary damage dealer for this fight, as you can aim freely. On the other hand, your summoned Pals can draw aggro and tank the Moon Lord's attacks while you focus on hitting the eyes and "heart." However, don’t attack using Jetragon’s area of effect (AoE) attacks, as it’s difficult to accurately hit the Moon Lord with them. Instead, use your most powerful weapons, such as the Laser Rifle and Multi-Guided Missile Launcher, and attack with them while evading attacks with the help of the Jetragon. Remember, you have 10 minutes to defeat the Moon Lord in Palworld. Failure to do so within this period despawns the raid boss, losing your chance at receiving loot. Nonetheless, that time frame should still be sufficient if proper preparation is followed. So, be aware of the Moon Lord's attacks, especially when its fireballs target you. If so, fly and evade while mounted on the Jetragon, and reposition yourself until your summoned Pals attract the Moon Lord’s attention. Then, attack the eyes and “heart” when they appear.
