The Valheim Call to Arms Update lets players venture beyond simply gear with mysterious yet powerful Trinkets. These accessories provide boosts, including those that increase damage dealt to enemies and reduce stamina usage. How do Trinkets Work in Valheim?

Although Trinkets are accessories in Valheim, their effects are temporary and only work under specific conditions. In particular, equipping a Trinket allows the player to start earning Adrenaline, a new resource introduced in the Call to Arms Update, which can be seen as an orange bar in the HUD. Earn Adrenaline by completing certain actions, including the following:

• Activate a Forsaken Power: +10 Adrenaline
• Block with Weapons or Tower Shields: +2 Adrenaline
• Parry: +5 Adrenaline
• Parry with the Carapace Buckler: +10 Adrenaline
• Dodge an Attack: +5 Adrenaline
• Stagger an Enemy: +3 Adrenaline
• Hit an Enemy with a Weapon: +1 to +3 Adrenaline (depending on the weapon and type of attack)
• Hit an Enemy with a Bomb: +2 Adrenaline (only if the main projectile hits)
• Use the Trollstav: +12 Adrenaline per use
• Use the Dead Raiser: +10 Adrenaline per use
• Staff of Protection: +5 Adrenaline per use
• Use the Dundr: +5 Adrenaline per use
• Use the Staff of Embers: +3 Adrenaline per use
• Use the Staff of the Wild: +3 Adrenaline per use
• Use the Staff of Fracturing: +3 Adrenaline per use
• Use the Staff of Frost: +1 Adrenaline per hit

Note that unequipping a Trinket won’t reset the Adrenaline gauge. However, Adrenaline starts decaying slowly over time if the player doesn't complete actions that would otherwise increase the gauge. This decay varies from 1 to 4 Adrenaline points per second, with the gauge depleting faster the more the gauge is filled. The Trinket's effect will activate automatically once the gauge reaches 100. Also, the indicator continues to build even when there's an active Trinket effect.

Most Trinkets in Valheim can be crafted at a Level 1 Forge. However, the Pulsating Earrings, Resounding Shackle, Jormundling, and Brimstone can be crafted at the Black Forge.
