Minecraft 1.21 Golem Guide: Iron Golem, Copper Golem, & More
Veröffentlicht am von
Within Minecraft’s lore, there are plenty of golems to explore, but only three can be found in-game. However, what if there were four? Today, we show step-by-step how to build iron, copper, and snow golems alongside the steps needed to add one more in our Minecraft 1.21 golem guide.
Players can build iron golems manually using four iron blocks and a carved pumpkin or jack o’ lantern. First, place the four iron blocks in a “T” shape and then set the carved pumpkin on top. The final result should have the appearance of a “+” sign, and if done correctly, the golem will spawn.
The intended purpose of Iron Golems was to defend villages and player-created homes. They attack all hostile mobs but creepers on sight, including players if they start the fight, unless they were made by the player, in which case they are loyal no matter what. However, what they typically end up becoming is the source of unlimited iron in Iron Golem farms. One such example of this for 1.21 can be found in the video above.
Copper Golems require only two blocks to build. The first is a copper block of any oxidation level, followed by a carved pumpkin or jack-o’-lantern on top. This will produce a copper golem alongside a single copper chest.
The main use of Copper Golems is their ability to act as an automated loot sorting system. Copper Golems will spend their time searching for copper chests with the goal of transferring items within them to wooden chests nearby. Should a wooden chest already have the item they are carrying, the Copper Golem will prioritize taking the items there until the chest is full.
In addition to these features, Copper Golems have a variant for all oxidation levels, becoming a statue block if fully oxidized. These statue blocks can be posed in four separate ways, with each producing a different level of redstone output:
Snow golems are built using two snow blocks and a carved pumpkin or jack-o’-lantern. First, place the two snow blocks on top of each other as an “I” and then place the carved pumpkin on top. If done correctly, a snowman with a pumpkin head will spawn.
It is also possible to edit the snow golem a little further using a pair of shears. Simply shear the pumpkin on the snow golem’s head, and it will be removed, revealing the snowman’s face within.
Snow golems are much weaker than their iron cousins, but will still throw snowballs with a slight knockback at any hostile mobs in sight. This makes them a great automated turret that may not kill mobs, but at least keep them away. The perfect gate guards, one could say! Outside of that, snow golems are useful for generating an infinite amount of snow in biomes where it typically would not be found.
Unfortunately, the tuff golem lost its mob vote, but players have since added it manually! Following our Tuff Golem Guide, you too can add this golem to your next Minecraft playthrough.
