Stationeers

RocketWerkz, the developer of the PvE survival title Icarus, produced and delivered Stationeers, a base-building game that extends far beyond the reaches of the Earth’s atmosphere. Here, players establish outposts as they become pioneering engineers tasked with establishing and maintaining off-world habitats. In Stationeers, players begin with a desolate landscape, and resources are meager at best. Nonetheless, you must make do with what you have to transcend your research from basic tools to amazing technologies. Despite its cartoon-like visuals, Stationeers offers various challenges that constantly keep players at the edge of their seats. For instance, the game throws you into the intricacies of life support upon starting a new game. Failure to manage oxygen, pressure, and temperature can mean certain death in the dark, lonely vacuum of space. Eventually, you’ll build a base that holds your resources and research. Over time, your station expands, and its systems can become more intricate exponentially. Build a unique space station unlike any other in Stationeers and bring a deep understanding of its complex features and mechanisms to life.

Aloft brings together Sky Sailors to rid this floating world of a creeping, insidious corruption. In Aloft, you travel between fragmented islands suspended in the vast expanse of the sky. However, what separates this game apart from other survival base-building titles is that you can turn relatively any island into your own floating home/base. Each new player must go through a series of tutorial quests to get their bearings with the game. After that, Aloft gives you free rein on how to proceed. Like Stationeers, don’t be fooled by Aloft’s seemingly playful appearance. Remember, this world seems to be on the brink of destruction, and it's up to you, and perhaps some friends, to rid the corruption before it’s too late. Use the game’s plethora of unique features and mechanics, such as gliding through the sky to travel between nearby islands. Additionally, transform your home island into a floating “ship,” complete with rudders, balloons, and sails. Then, defeat evil mushrooms and cleanse islands of corruption nodes.
