Minecraft World Hotel & Rollercoaster

As Minecraft World at Chessington World of Adventures in the UK nears competition for 2027, Mojang has begun sharing more details! The first was the Escape the Nether rollercoaster, an indoor and outdoor attraction for thrill-seekers that explores both the Nether and Overworld. Following that was the announcement of the Minecraft World Hotel, where everything, including the lobby, rooms, and food, is Minecraft-themed. Truly a Minecraft fan’s dream!

Ice Caves Biome

A brand-new underground biome is coming to Minecraft! Generating below cold biomes, Ice Caves are designed to feel like a contrast between light and dark, filled with packed ice, calcite blocks, glowing ice crystals, and dangerous icicles that fall due to light. Lava can also still generate, further expanding the theme of contrasts with warm and cold. The team encouraged players to give mining a try here, as the packed ice is easily broken, quickly revealing the stone walls hidden behind.

The Frozen

Throughout Ice Caves, and possibly cold biomes as well, The Frozen, or Frozen Zombies, will generate as hostile mobs. These terrifying zombies covered in ice and frost inflict the freezing status effect, both slowing players and dealing damage over time. Additionally, they may spawn holding an Ice Ball, allowing them to attack at range. These Ice Balls, which frozen zombies drop if killed with an Ice Ball, serve as the main ingredient in freezing potions and freezing arrows, allowing players to wield the status effect as well. PVPers will need to watch out!

The Sift Dimension

Finally, the biggest announcement of the show! Being worked on behind the scenes alongside regularly scheduled game drops is the Sift Dimension Update for vanilla Minecraft. The very same dimensions players will soon be able to explore in Minecraft Dungeons 2! It is unknown just how much The Sift showcased in Minecraft Dungeons 2 will make it to vanilla, but we can likely expect the same biomes and, of course, the lovable Blub mob too. Hopefully more is shared soon!
