Even in its early access state, Hytale has plenty of valuable ores, alloys, and gems to satisfy anyone's hunger for swinging a pickaxe. You'll regularly need different ores and stones as you adventure and upgrade through your adventure, and finding some of these deposits can get tricky. In this guide, we'll show you all the ore types and locations in Hytale so that you can continue to live out your mineral-mining dreams.

All Ore Types & Locations in Hytale

If you're familiar with Minecraft, you already know exactly how to obtain ores in Hytale. If you're playing in Adventure mode, the only way to grab them is to strike them with a pickaxe. Naturally, the rarer the ore, the stronger your pickaxe needs to be. More common elements such as Copper or Thorium can be harvested with a Wooden Pickaxe. Meanwhile, nearly all ores currently available in Hytale can be harvested using at least an Iron Pickaxe. There are some ores that are even tougher than Diamond, but most of them aren't currently available in Hytale through Adventure mode. Mithril, for example, is one ore that can only be obtained when you're in Creative mode. For the ores you can find while exploring, each one is most likely to appear in specific zones. While some might appear in more than one biome or condition, it's common for some ore to be easier to find in specific areas.

Copper Ore

As one might have guessed, Copper Ore is the easiest high-value mineral to find in Hytale. You can easily spot these in caves within nearly every biome in the game. In the starting area, Emerald Wilds, you shouldn't have any trouble finding a large hole in the ground with some Copper Ore just inside.

Iron Ore

Like Copper Ore, you can expect to see Iron Ore in nearly every biome throughout Hytale. However, you can find an even greater concentration of Iron Ore in desert biomes. Again, just keep an eye out for cavern openings as you explore. Iron Ore is easy to find without delving too deep, and it especially stands out on blocks in these biomes.

Thorium Ore

While you're in a desert biome, you can also keep an eye out for Thorium Ore. While you can find it underground in desert biomes, you'll have a much easier time finding it on the surface. Specifically, Thorium Ore is easiest to spot on the sides of cliffs. Its green gems stick out like a sore thumb, so you it shouldn't be too tricky to gather.

Sapphire

Sapphire is the first gem in this list, and it's a bit tougher to find. First, Sapphire can only be found in volcanic biomes. Luckily, the Hytale map makes hunting down specific biomes much easier. Once you've found a volcanic biome, keep using your map and look for a small chunk of yellowish/gold pixels in the center of a lava circle. At these spots, you will find a large chunk of golden blocks. These golden deposits are deep underground, so make sure you have a way to descend carefully. A bucket full of water should help with the lava as well! These deposits can have Sapphires either on the outside, inside, or within the chests that can spawn here as well.

Ruby

You'll find Rubies the exact same way that you find Sapphires. Grab a bucket of water, head to a volcanic biome, and start looking for golden blips on the world map. Remember to smack away some of the golden blocks to see if more Rubies are hidden inside!

Emerald

Emerald is just as tricky to find as Sapphire and Ruby, but for different reasons. Instead of having to face a pit of lava, you must defeat an Earthn Golem. These stony enemies aren't hard to find. They inhabit the Forgotten Temple Gateway near your initial spawn point. However, they put up a fight. Take them down, and you'll have a handful of Emerald for yourself. You can also find Emerald scattered throughout the world near glowing green crystals, but defeating Earthen Golems is a much faster way to get this precious green gem.

Gold Ore

It's finally time to leave deserts and volcanic lands behind. For Gold Ore, you need to head to a winter biome. Once you're there, scale the mountaintops. Gold Ore can be found growing inside and on the sides of these mountains. You can also find Gold Ore deposits if you dig very deep into the earth, but Gold Ore on in the tundra is much easier to find in the early game.

Cobalt Ore

Once again, the chilly mountaintops of the tundra are the key. Like Gold Ore, you can find Cobalt Ore in other areas, but it's most plentiful in colder biomes on the insides and outsides of mountains. You'll easily recognize it by its dark blue coloring.

Silver Ore

One more for the frozen mountains! Silver Ore is found here as well, but it's easily the rarest of the icebound ores. You can also find small pockets of Silver Ore deep underground near subterranean lakes. However, these deposits are much harder to locate while staying alive. Head to the frozen tundra if you're starting out, and keep your eyes peeled for a glint of Silver Ore.

Adamantite Ore

Adamantite Ore is only in a very specific spot: the Cinder Wastes. These are typically located on the fringes of volcanic biomes. Scan the volcanic areas using your map and look for a spot with dark purplish/red dirt. Here, you can find plenty of Adamantite Ore poking through the surface.

Diamond

This is one of the trickiest materials to find in Hytale. They can only be found deep within the earth near the layers where magma starts to appear. Luckily, it doesn't matter what biome you're in. It takes lots of dedication and digging, but Diamonds are a hardy material that's worth the effort.

Topaz

Finally, we have Topaz. This can actually be harder to find than Diamond. First, you need to dig deep into the earth in a volcanic region. Then, you need to hunt for yellow crystals. These can be found on the ceilings of large caverns or buried deep in pockets. Within these yellow crystals there is a chance that a piece of topaz will be in the center. It's incredibly hard to find, so good luck!

Mithril Ore

Again, the unfortunate truth is that you cannot collect all Hytale ores naturally. Mithril is the first of several ores and valuable minerals that you currently cannot find in Adventure mode. The only way to place it into the world is to open up Creative mode. Additionally, you can use Creative mode to give yourself everything that you can craft from Mithril.

Onyxium Ore

Currently, you can only access Onyxium Ore through Creative mode.

Prisma Ore

Currently, you can only access Prisma Ore through Creative mode.

Voidstone

Currently, you can only access Voidstones through Creative mode.

Zephyr

Currently, you can only access Zephyr through Creative mode.
