How To Summon The Putrid Rat In V Rising

The Putrid Rat is a Level 30 V Blood Carrier (Boss) that can only spawn from the Vermin Nest. Craft this refinement structure by using 360x Stone and 80x Bone. Next, you must gather another set of items to summon the V Rising Putrid Rat from within that structure. To summon it, you'll need the following:

• 1x Twilight Snapper
• 4x Fish Bone
• 8x Grave Dust

Tip: Read our Grave Dust Farming Guide if you need help collecting this material. It’s clear that the Twilight Snapper is the trickiest ingredient to gather from the group. Fortunately, you can fish it from any body of water in Vardoran. But you’ll have a better chance of catching this fish in the waters in Dunley Farmlands. However, catching it may still take a while since it’s an uncommon fish.

Fighting the Putrid Rat

Feed the materials into the Vermin Nest and summon the Putrid Rat. Make sure to prepare for the fight before summoning it, as the boss appears 30 seconds after you confirm the summoning. Although the Putrid Rat in V Rising isn’t a difficult boss, complacency can still lead to an early grave. Here are the attacks you must watch out for when going against this boss:

• Bite: The Putrid Rat’s basic melee attack
• Rage: The Putrid Rat will glow red first, then it’ll attack six times consecutively
• Explosion: A green exploding mist appears from the Putrid Rat when it shakes
• Summon Minions: 12 Giant Rats appear after the Putrid Rat digs

Since the Putrid Rat is primarily a melee fighter, you can keep your distance and attack from afar. Use your best spells for this fight. Melee attacks from your weapons can also deal considerable damage to this boss’ health. But pay attention to its movements so you won’t experience unnecessary damage. Tip: Buff yourself with a Soul Shard to gain an advantage over the Putrid Rat.
