How to Get the Demon Heart in Terraria

Introduced in Version 1.3.0.1, the Demon Heart is a consumable item in Terraria that can only be obtained by opening a Treasure Bag. Although the Treasure Bag is a reasonably common loot from various bosses, including Deerclops, Skeletron, and The Twins, the Demon Heart only appears from the Treasure Bag obtained from the Wall of Flesh. Also, the Treasure Bag and its contents only drop from an Expert or Master world. It’s also important to mention that other items can appear from opening a Treasure Bag from the Wall of Flesh. So, some players may not get the Demon Heart upon opening a Treasure Bag for the first time. The other possible items that can appear from opening a Treasure Bag from the Wall of Flesh are the following:

Demon Heart Uses

Using the Demon Heart in Terraria, particularly in Expert or Master worlds, increases the user’s accessory slot by one. Consuming this item is also only possible once per player, and it is removed from the obtainable items from the Treasure Bag. If a player transfers to a Classic or non-Expert/Master world after using a Demon Heart, the additional accessory slot is rendered unusable. An item equipped in the extra accessory slot will also have its effects disabled. A player can still remove the accessory from the additional slot but cannot equip another item in the same slot until they return to an Expert or Master world.
