Veröffentlicht am von
Gamescom 2025 was chock-full of announcements highlighting new titles and updates to already-released games. One of those notable mentions is Update #7 for Enshrouded, called the Wake of the Water. Find out more about this major patch as you continue reading.
Flameborns should prepare to experience a new tide in Embervale, as Enshrouded Update #7: Wake of the Water will release soon! Prepare to master new swimming mechanics and confront the horrors lying in wait deep within the waters of the new biome.
Enshrouded developer Keen Games announced a water biome to be added to the game as part of their 2025 roadmap. With the release of Update #7, Flameborns can enjoy this new region and all of its aquatic splendor. In particular, players can now swim and dive as soon as the update goes live. No need to go through quests or complete additional requirements to unlock these features.
Named as the Veilwater Basin, this new tropical biome is meant for high-level Flameborns. It features ancient ruins, large lakes, and rivers. Also, new threats lie in wait, such as the hateful Drak enemy that emerges within this biome's forests.
Additionally, players can discover new resources leading to items, recipes, building materials, and more. Additional quests, rewards, farm animals, and NPCs can also be found in this new region.
Part of the teaser trailer saw a Flameborn diving into a body of water in the new biome. Like venturing into the Shroud, players should seek ways to extend underwater time using equipment or food. Remember, combat isn't possible while submerged. So, be cautious caution when maneuvering waterways to bypass threats.
Fishing is introduced as a new activity to gather cooking ingredients and crafting materials. In Enshrouded, luck influences catches. For instance, common fish can be caught in open waters with any bait. On the other hand, better gear and specific spots create opportunities for better catches.
The Wake of the Water Update has increased the maximum player level to 45. Additionally, enemies and chests now drop powerful versions of existing weapons, and new armor can be crafted in the new biome. Players can also wield the new greatsword weapon type, which can be found as early as the first region.
The developers took another look at the weapons in Enshrouded and reviewed them for consistency, particularly their names, visuals, and stats. For instance, the Ice-Coated Daggers, which previously only dealt cut and pierce damage, now deals pierce and ice damage. Additionally, upgrading the daggers allow it to gain extra ice damage perks. Also, weapon stats align closer with their themes, and weapon durability has been increased and will scale with item level and rarity. However, existing weapons retain their original stats post-Update #7. Armor, ring stats, and food items have also been tweaked.
Moreover, Enshrouded players can now craft any Lore weapon previously unlocked at any stage in the game! For instance, craft a higher-level Wailing Blade after out-leveling it. All weapon types will have craftable Lore options, benefiting players struggling with RNG to find their desired weapon type.
New weapons have also been added to the game's item library. These options include the Fell Thunderbrute Greatsword and Scavenger’s Acid Cleaver, which have drop rates that scale by enemy level and rarity.
Say goodbye to save scumming to improve your chances of obtaining a desired item from a chest, as Update #7 removes this exploit. Now, loot chests save their looted state, preventing players from reloading the game or restarting servers to exploit loot. Chest contents will eventually respawn as originally intended.
Starting as a Mage in Embervale can be tough, as spells are generally found later in the game as rather than the starting areas. Thankfully, Update #7 introduces the Fire Bolt spell to support early-game mages. It's a single-target, quick-casting spell that requires minimal resources to craft.
Before Update #7 for Enshrouded players can easily retreat from battles and resume combat with full resources, thanks to high regeneration. To enhance combat engagement, regeneration rates for HP, stamina, and mana will be reduced, making health management more strategic.

Release Date
The Wake of the Water Update for Enshrouded will be coming to the shores of Embervale in October 2025. Despite this initial announcement, this patch's release date has been delayed to November 10, according to an October 24 devblog. The reason behind this delay was to ensure the quality of the patch, particularly the new water-related features. The team acknowledged the difficulty in meeting the original October deadline while maintaining high standards.New Content & Features
