Valheim 1.0 Release Time & Date Details

Valheim 1.0 will release on Wednesday, September 9th, 2026, at 9:00 am EDT. This breaks down to the following for other common time zones:

• 6am PDT
• 7am MDT
• 8am CDT
• 2pm BST
• 3pm CEST
• 11pm AEST

Valheim 1.0 Countdown: All the Latest News Ahead of Release Time

We don't know everything that will be included in Valheim 1.0: Deep North, but we do know some of what to expect.

All-New Deep North Content

There will be plenty of mysteries to discover when Deep North launches, but here is what we do know about Valheim 1.0:

• Crossplay
  • Whether you're playing on the PC via Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, or Nintendo Switch 2, you can play with any other Valheim players.
• Two New Dungeons
  • The Winding Tunnels and the Gates of Mörkhalla will feature new challenges and rewards.
• New Enemies
  • New enemies mean new dangers, but it also means new materials for new crafting recipes. What wanders the Deep North may not be friendly, but they will be useful!
• Alternative Biomes
  • Some of the biomes that longtime Valheim players know and love will have some new spins. For example, Rocky Birch Meadows and a Deforested Black Forest offer a twist with new materials and exploration opportunities.
• New Creatures
  • An adorable seal and a rideable Moose are only the beginning of new fauna for Valheim players to discover.
• Expanded Inventory
  • You'll have more to do with your inventory management and more space as well.
• Cinematics
  • The story and lore of Valheim will have an even larger focus.
• New Items
  • This includes new weapons, armor, materials, buildings, gear, and more.
• New Achievements
  • Your old accomplishments won't count toward new achievements, but with 1.0 you can start earning some bragging rights to share with friends.

Gamescom Animated Trailer to Set the Stage

During Gamescom, the development team at Iron Gate released an animated trailer to build even more hype for Valheim 1.0. As an animation, it doesn't have any gameplay footage, but it should set your Viking heart ablaze with the desire to prove yourself before the gods, and could be a style of presentation the game continues using in the future after a very positive response.

The Price for Valheim Will Increase with 1.0

As is the case with many games when they leave Early Access, Valheim will also be seeing a permanent price increase. For the majority of its time in Early Access, the game has cost $19.99 USD. Now, with 1.0 so close, the game has already been increased to $29.99 USD. Naturally, for those who have previously purchased the game, the 1.0 update is entirely free. That includes all new content included in the Deep North expansion. But for new players, or anyone who may want to try the game in the future, now is a great time to jump in before the price hike!
