Renown

It's almost time to get medieval with the arrival of the open-world PVP survival title Renown in 2025! This unique survival game sets you in the unforgiving times of knights, kingdoms, and conquering - where the strong survive, and the weak peak out from behind castle walls. You must hunt for your food, build up farms and fortresses, and, of course, fight for your life! You and any friends you team up with can look forward to customizing each aspect of your knight. Your helmet, weaponry, banners, and more can let your enemies know exactly who they're messing with. If none of that gets the message across, you can build powerful siege weaponry to reduce hostile buildings to rubble or take up a defensive position in a mighty castle of your own making. This game will especially appeal to players who've enjoyed games like Chivalry, Mordhau, Mount and Blade, Dark and Darker, Rust, and more. The fast-paced, melee-focused, and resource-gathering action of Renown doesn't have an exact release date yet, but it is set to enter early access in 2025 after a massively successful Kickstarter campaign!

DUNE: AWAKENING

There's been a lot of love for author Frank Herbert's Dune lately, and Dune: Awakening hopes to keep it going! Set on the blistering planet of Arrakis, this open-world survival title sees you fighting for your life by managing temperature, thirst, and, of course, avoiding enormous sandworms. Your character in this MMO is fully customizable as you choose not only your appearance but background. The factions that you align with will offer different stories, quests, and even abilities as you progress. Naturally, you can create and customize buildings, vehicles, tools, and more as you attempt to uncover the secrets of Arrakis while fighting for control of the planet's spice supplies. Whether you journey with friends or alone is up to you when the game launches on PC on May 20, 2025 with Xbox & PlayStation support to follow. Terminator Survivors

Get ready to see how Skynet rose to power with this survival story set in the iconic Terminator universe with Terminator Survivors. Set shortly after the events of Judgment Day, you'll play as a survivor, scavenging to survive against hordes of terminators. Building up a base is key to your continued existence, and you'll need plenty of ways to fight, too. Weapons, ammo, and anything else that can dent a robotic killing machine will be invaluable. However, fighting might not always be the answer. Terminators will often have you hopelessly outgunned, so you'll need to pick and choose your battles wisely. Of course, rival human factions don't make things much easier, and each interaction you make matters. Originally set to release in 2024, the game is now planning for a launch into early access on Steam at some point in 2025. Plans for an Xbox and PlayStation release are set to follow as well.

Towers of Aghasba

One of the most unique survival games to look forward to is Towers of Aghasba. This open-world adventure features a rich and diverse ecosystem that's filled with bizarre creatures and interesting cultures. Your mission as a member of the Shimu people is to reclaim your ancestral home on the island of Aghasba. You'll have to travel, gather resources, and build up prosperous settlements in order to push back against the mysterious Withered. Along the way, you'll be able to restore Aghasba's peculiar ecosystems, collect and trade items with NPCs, and conquering a wide variety of fantastical beasts. Towers of Aghasba was released into early access on both Steam and PlayStation on November 19, 2024. While we don't know when the game will leave early access, its Steam page states that the early access period could last between 12 and 18 months. Here's hoping they manage a 1.0 release in 2025!

Solarpunk

In a world where humanity has fully embraced renewable energy and eco-friendly technology, Solarpunk sees you building sustainable gardening. This title is much more relaxing than other survival titles and hopes to offer a cozy and comfy slice of futuristic farming life. As you create self-sustaining farms, your choices will affect the environment around you. You'll need to be mindful of your actions, work alongside friendly NPCs, and explore the game's procedurally generated world to see all that Solarpunk has to offer. Luckily, you'll have a personal airship that you can use to fly from island to island! Currently, Solarpunk is aiming for a release in 2025 on Steam. There's no news on console releases, but there is a demo available on Steam that you can download today!
