Minecraft is a game that has infinite replayability for those that are creative enough to keep shaking things up or dedicated enough to getting everything exactly right.

Every new Minecraft world has the potential to become anything, and with that, there’s always something new to try and do.

To keep the game fresh for you, here are some themes and challenges to try out in your next Minecraft world!

The Pokemon Challenge: Capturing All Animals in Minecraft

If you’ve ever wanted to live your Pokemon dream in Minecraft, this challenge will put you right where you need to be.

Minecraft is teeming with life from all kinds of different mobs - and during the day, this will largely include many different types of animals. With all of the useful items these mobs drop, players are no stranger to seeking out the typical cows, pigs, chickens, and sheep to get what they need.

In this challenge, however, we’re shaking things up. Instead of setting up the usual Chicken farm in this Minecraft world, players will be tasked with going much further. 

Instead, players must capture at least one of every animal mob in the game (and yes, that includes different colorations)! 

To do this players must explore the world and bring back animals to a central base. While it’ll end up looking more like a zoo, you’ll have completed your Pokedex when you’ve found and brought back (where applicable) one of each of the following:

• Cod
• Cow
• Dolphin
• Donkey
• Fox
• Goat
• Hoglin

If you complete this challenge, you’ll have a full Pokedex and major bragging rights!

Settling the Nether

Most Minecraft players fear the Nether, using it sparingly to access important resources like Blaze Rods and Ender Pearls to eventually challenge the Ender Dragon.

Others might explore the Nether, especially with all of its new and exciting biomes, but quickly turn back to the Obsidian portal that got them there once they see all the hostile creatures waiting on the other side.

But while the Nether can be a dangerous place, it can also be a beautiful one, especially after the Nether Update of 2020.

In this Minecraft challenge, players will have to set up their home base in the Nether and get comfortable under the threat of all of its mighty foes. Bonus points for players that build settlements in all of the Nether biomes to make the Nether as safe and traversable as possible.

With plenty of biomes to settle down in, there’s also plenty of different base designs that might fit - whether that’s building up a massive castle or keeping it simple with a small cave home. 

Just make sure not to place your bed in the Nether! Instead, you’ll have to sleep in the Overworld.

Building Atlantis

Minecraft has plenty of things in store for players who brave the deeps of the oceans, but only the most elite can stay below permanently.

In this challenge, players must build a massive underwater base rivaling the mythical Atlantis.

This will put building skills to the test most of all, and challenge players to get creative in the logistics of putting together this underwater base to rival all bases!
