Oil is an important resource in Satisfactory as a key ingredient in producing various essential goods. It’s also an integral material in powering factories, especially those using Fuel Generators as power sources. How to Gather Oil in Satisfactory 1.0

Remember, you can’t mine this resource manually. Instead, you must extract Crude Oil by using an Oil Extractor at a Crude Oil resource node. Craft the Satisfactory Oil Extractor with the Build Gun utilizing 15x Motor, 20x Encased Industrial Beam, and 60x Cable. Note that the amount of Crude Oil farmed from a resource node generally depends on the purity of the material from that gathering spot. In particular, you can get more Crude Oil by farming it from a Pure Crude Oil resource node. On the other hand, the Oil Extractor mines fewer Crude Oil units if the resource node is less than Pure. Here’s a quick rundown of the amount of Crude Oil extracted from a Crude Oil resource node depending on the location’s purity:

Impure Node: 60 m³ per min at 100% or 150 m³ per min at 250%
Normal Node: 120 m³ per min at 100% or 300 m³ per min at 250%
Pure Node: 240 m³ per min at 100% or 600 m³ per min at 250%

Alternatively, you can extract Crude Oil in Satisfactory using a Resource Well Extractor at a Resource Well (as of Patch 0.4). Craft this building by using 10x Steel Beam and 10x Plastic with the Build Gun. Although you have the option to use this extraction method, mining Crude Oil from a Resource Well typically yields fewer units than farming the resource from a Crude Oil resource node.
