Rust Halloween Event 2026: Start & End Dates, Event Cosmetics, Frankenstein Monster, Loot Bags & more

Happy Rustoween! It's time once again to get into the spooky season spirit as you build bases and crush fellow players on your favorite Rust server. As in past years, some previous Rust Halloween event goodies will return in 2026, but there will be some new seasonal items to enjoy as well. So let's dive into everything you need to know about the Rust Halloween Event in 2026 - including its start and end dates for PC and Console players, event rewards, cosmetics, and more!
The Rust Halloween 2026 event runs from October 15 to November 5 on Console, and from October 22 to November 5 on PC.
That gives you plenty of time to enjoy the event before it ends! Of course, if you're playing on a dedicated server, you can adjust the Halloween event's start and end times whenever you like.
Once again, the lands of Rust have become infected with Scarecrows and Mummies. If you take these ghastly ghouls down, you can collect Head, Torso, and Leg body parts. These come in three different tiers as well. You can find Light, Medium, and Heavy versions of these disembodied pieces. Bringing a full set together will allow you to build your very own Frankenstein Monster to fight alongside you. If you make one with Light pieces, it'll be faster but weaker. Meanwhile, a Heavy-made Frankenstein will be slower and stronger.
To build your beastly buddy, you'll need a Frankenstein's Table. You can craft these at a Tier 1 Workbench, and the blueprint will be available automatically during the Halloween event.
To use your Franken-pal, open the Command Wheel to give it orders. You can have it follow you, defend you when you're in battle, send it out to attack enemies, and more. If you want to make some adjustments to the monster, use the Sleep command to send it back to the table for a tune-up.
Occasionally, a public event will start on the island. This is the traditional Rust Candy Hunt, and it means a whole bunch of candies have spawned all over. You'll need to collect as many as you can within three minutes to earn some rewards. Keep in mind that this event happens twice per in-game day, so there will be plenty of chances to grab enough candy to make you sick.
When the event is ongoing, a screen overlay will display who the top 10 candy hunters on the server are. That way you can know who to target for revenge if you lose! There's also a countdown timer to show how much time is left before the candy hunting ends. If you're in the top five when all is said and done, you'll receive a reward. Here is the list of prizes:
Occasionally, an eerie glowing door will appear and float menacingly in the air. Head toward these portals, interact with them, and you'll be whisked away to spooky Halloween dungeons. There will be plenty of Scarecrows and Mummies inside, but defeating them can get you even more Halloween treats!
Of course, one of the best ways to enjoy the spooky season is to decorate with eerie items. Some of these is easiest to do by earning those coveted Medium and Small loot bags from the Candy Hunt event. Here are all of the seasonal items you can find in the bags:

Frankenstein Monster
Once again, the lands of Rust have become infected with Scarecrows and Mummies. If you take these ghastly ghouls down, you can collect Head, Torso, and Leg body parts. These come in three different tiers as well. You can find Light, Medium, and Heavy versions of these disembodied pieces. Bringing a full set together will allow you to build your very own Frankenstein Monster to fight alongside you. If you make one with Light pieces, it'll be faster but weaker. Candy Hunt Event
- 5th Place: 1 Small Loot Bag
- 4th Place: 3 Small Loot Bags
- 3rd Place: 5 Small Loot Bags
- 2nd Place: 1 Medium Loot Bag
- 1st Place: 3 Medium Loot Bags
Frankenstein and Mummy Masks & Ghost Sheet Costume
As you take down Scarecrows and Mummies, they have a chance to drop seasonal masks. You can also find these inside of loot bags that appear during the Candy Hunt event. Additionally, the full-body Ghost Sheet Costume has a rare chance to drop from vanquished Scarecrows. None of these items do anything directly, but it's nice to don a mask or sheet and get into the seasonal spooky vibes! And you may even find ways to make use of them as extra camouflage as well.Halloween Portals
Vampire Stake
Maybe you think there are too many Scarecrows roaming around. Luckily, the Vampire Stake can one-shot these monsters and give you a moment to breathe! These are rarer drops from Small or Medium Loot Bags you earn during the Candy Hunt. They may just be hunks of wood, but collecting them before entering Halloween Portals can improve your chances of survival!Seasonal Items
Of course, one of the best ways to enjoy the spooky season is to decorate with eerie items. Some of these is easiest to do by earning those coveted Medium and Small loot bags from the Candy Hunt event. Here are all of the seasonal items you can find in the bags:
Medium Loot Bag
- Coffin: An old wooden coffin, can store up to 42 items.
- Graveyard Fence: A spooky fence.
- Spider Webs: Giant cobwebs that can be hung against both a ceiling and a wall.
- Chocolate Bar: A chocolate bar found as loot. Eating it provides a small boost to health, hunger, and thirst.
- Pumpkin Basket: A pumpkin basket to help you collect candy much faster during Trick or Treat events with left-click. Use right-click to throw candy.
- Scarecrow Wrap: A creepy burlap scarecrow hat.
- Vampire Stake: A stake with special properties that lets you release the soul of undead creatures with a single strike and yields extra loot from their remains.
