Many Palworld players quickly noticed that it was possible to capture Zoe & Grizzbolt during her tower boss encounter through a glitch. However, it was later patched, rendering it impossible to recruit the duo until the Tides of Terraria Update. Now, and with the Version 0.6 Update, Pal trainers can recruit Zoe and, by extension, her Pal Grizzbolt by completing a series of missions.

How to Recruit Zoe in Palworld

The first step to recruiting Zoe in Palworld is defeating her in the Rayne Syndicate Tower at Windswept Hills. Once defeated, you'll gain access to her missions, eventually leading to her recruitment.

Step #1: Find Zoe’s Location

Note that you can't talk to Zoe during her boss fight at the Rayne Syndicate Tower. Instead, find her at the Desolate Church, slightly northwest of her tower. A Black Marketeer NPC should also be in the ruins.

Step #2: Catch a Grizzbolt

Talk to Zoe once you find her to trigger the first of three of her missions: to capture a Grizzbolt. If you don’t have this Electric-type Pal in your ranks, you can capture one at the Wildlife Sanctuary No. 1 southwest of the map. It’s important to mention that this location doesn’t have a fast-travel point. So, use a Pal that allows you to fly or swim to the remote island. Also, this mission can arguably be the most annoying for some players, as Grizzbolt is a rare spawn. Defeat and/or capture the Pals in the area to force the game to roll for a new spawn. Grizzbolt may appear sooner than later if you're lucky. Otherwise, prepare to go around the sanctuary until it appears. Next, return to the Desolate Church and summon the captured Grizzbolt before talking to Zoe. Talk to her again to receive your next mission.

Step #3: Defeat and/or Capture Five Free Pal Alliance Members

Not to be confused with the Pal Syndicate, Free Pal Alliance members are typically wearing white robes. These hostile NPCs can be found roaming around the map. However, finding them in and around one of their camps is easier. One example is northeast of the Desolate Church at coordinates 199, -156. Again, return to Zoe to mark the mission as complete. Then, talk to her again to receive your third and final mission.

Step #4: Find Zoe’s Tattered Memento

While the previous missions required players to run around the map, searching for a Grizzbolt and Free Pal Alliance members, this third quest is, perhaps, the easiest of the bunch. In particular, Zoe sends you on a fetch quest to gather an item. Thankfully, she marks the location on the map for you. So, make your way northeast from the Desolate Church to the marked location. Here, you'll find a blanket; retrieve it and return it to Zoe afterward. Talk to her, and she'll thank you for your efforts. Then, she'll mention that she's having doubts about the syndicate and wants to find answers for herself. Finish the conversation to officially recruit Zoe & Grizzbolt to your ranks.

(Optional) Step #5: Capture Zoe

After recruiting Zoe & Grizzbolt, you’ll notice that her NPC is still in the Desolate Church. This time, you can attack and whittle her health to a critical level. Then, capture her by throwing a Pal Sphere. She won't escape if you're lucky, and Zoe will be part of your list of allies to summon at the base or in battle. Additionally, you can summon Zoe and the Zoe & Grizzbolt duo at the base without compromise.

How to Get Zoe's Halloween Skin in Palworld

After completing the recruitment quest, talk to Zoe again to continue her dialogue. This time, she'll ask you to craft her Halloween skin, which is part of the Palworld Halloween 2025 update. Thankfully, you only need a few basic materials to craft it, particularly 5x Cloth and 5x Leather. Once crafted, return to Zoe (the NPC) at the Desolate Church to complete the quest and acquire her skin.
