Pal trainers have been capturing, training, and battling Pals for over a year since the launch of Palworld on January 19, 2024. Developer Pocket Pair Inc. aims to continue updating this open-world creature-collecting title to prepare for its official release. With that, players can expect various exciting things in-store as the dev recently announced a Palworld 2025 roadmap covering what to expect around the new anniversary and beyond.

Palworld 2025 Roadmap: New Features, Plans, & Anniversary Details

As announced in the Palworld first anniversary roadmap, new content, features, and improvements are in store for Pal trainers. The benefits of these additional elements range from increased accessibility to some more upcoming game collaborations. Here's what we learned about the plans for Palworld in 2025 from the new roadmap:

Co-op Crossplay

Palworld is available on different platforms, particularly PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC (Windows and Mac). However, it’s currently impossible to play with those using other gaming systems so far. Nonetheless, crossplay in Palworld will eventually happen per the recent announcement, albeit at a future date.

World Transfers for Pals

It can be frustrating to start from scratch when creating a new saved game in Palworld. Thankfully, those woes will be reduced as the game will introduce Pal transfers between worlds. Still, it might be safe to expect that transferring Pals between worlds may have some restrictions - so keep that in mind as we approach its launch.

Ending/World Tree Scenario

Players wanting a “true endgame” experience, particularly for the game’s narrative, might be getting it soon. A “final” boss might be in the works, and preparation for this fateful encounter is advised to start as early as now.

New Pals and Technologies

It’s safe to say that many players welcome the addition of new Pals and technologies with every new major patch. Some technologies we’d like to see in future updates include a way for retrieving thrown Pal spheres that miss their mark, adding Pals to a “Favorites” list, and more Pal variants.

Additional Game Collaborations

The release of the Feybreak Update introduced the Meowmere, a sword known initially from Terraria. Players might be seeing more collaborations with other games in future updates.

Improvements

The developers are working hard to ensure the game runs as smoothly as possible while improving overall gameplay. Some improvements they’re working on are enhancements to base Pals, UX/UI, base Pals, and world object placement.
