Similar to other FTB StoneBlock modpacks, each StoneBlock 4 game starts with players surrounded in a small, cavernous area with seemingly no exits. Digging through the floor, ceiling, or walls seems to lead to nowhere. Nonetheless, this story-driven modpack offers diverse gameplay options tailored to many different kinds of playstyles. This is in part thanks to the variety of dynamic mods in the pack, such as FTB Quests,  Fluid Cows, and other dynamic mods that provide unique and challenging playthroughs. Content & Features

Base Selection & Starting Locations

Choose from a variety of starting locations, including the following:

• A Dark and Eerie Blackout Zone
• A Dark and Mysterious Cave
• A Vibrant and Colorful Cherry Tree
• A Ruined Pre-Industrial Complex
• A Lush and Warm Mangrove Cave

In StoneBlock 4, each base has unique features. For instance, the “Dark and Mysterious Cave” only has a few light sources, encouraging players to scour through the darkness in search of materials while avoiding dangers. Starting a game of StoneBlock 4 puts the player into a small area. However, type "/spawn" (without the quotes) into the chat-slash-command box to teleport into a hub area. Here, talk to the Echo of Guidance NPC to learn more about this pack's unique gameplay, its features, and mechanics. Doing so also grants you your first task, which is, quite simply, to press the "Complete Stage" button and claim the reward.

The World Engine

As mentioned earlier, the World Engine is the pack’s ultimate objective. As its name suggests, this massive yet intricate machine, found high above your chosen base, is a proverbial library that holds the knowledge of humankind. Your mission is to reach its location and restore its unstable archives by gathering rare resources while mastering the pack's various mod systems.

The Unearthing & Brushing Systems

Like other FTB releases, the Minecraft StoneBlock 4 modpack juggles many interesting systems at once. Two notable examples are the Unearthing and Brushing systems, which are at the core of the game's resource-gathering methods. Use the Brushing system to brush on gravel, sand, and dust blocks to unearth valuable material chunks instead of using Minecraft’s traditional mining techniques. At first, you’ll use a Crude Brush, which you can eventually upgrade to improve your material mining efforts. Then, your Unearthing level progressively reveals better and more diverse ores, improving your technologies through progression.

The Vaults

The Vaults are unique challenge dungeons deep underground, featuring logic puzzles and combat arenas. Successfully completing these domains yields exclusive loot and progression materials essential for mastering the modpack, which are otherwise unattainable via other methods.

The Cronon Generator

Apart from using the pack’s unique features and systems, StoneBlock 4 players must take advantage of a mysterious energy source called Cronon to progress. With that, one of your major tasks is to craft a Cronon Generator to passively collect this energy. Doing so powers the teleportation network, allowing you to instantly travel between key locations, which include the World Engine.

Worker Tokens

Uncovering the secrets of the World Engine in the Minecraft StoneBlock 4 mod can be quite challenging. So, this modpack encourages its players to recruit helpers. For instance, cure a Zombie Village in a healing spring with the help of the World Engine and transform the NPC into a Worker Token. Then, use the token to activate Echoes, special NPCs that provide expertise in different mod categories like magic or machinery. Do so to unlock new questlines and knowledge, bringing you closer to your ultimate goal.
