How to Plant and Harvest Fall Crops

Most, if not all, grains in Farming Simulator 22 share the same requirements, especially for wheat, barley, and canola. These plants also have identical planting and harvesting procedures. However, some key differences exist between these fall crops.

General Requirements

  • Tractor
  • Cultivator
  • Grain seeds
  • Seeder
  • Fertilizer
  • Fertilizer spreader
  • Lime
  • Weeder
  • Harvester with a grain header attachment
  • Trailer
Note: Use console commands to instantly gain money to buy the required equipment and materials if you need the extra cash.

Planting and Harvesting Procedure

  • Cultivate the field using the cultivator
  • Load a planter with grain seeds
  • Attach the planter to a tractor and spread the seeds to the cultivated field
  • Load fertilizer into a spreader and attach it to the tractor
  • Spread the fertilizer over the grain field
  • Load lime into a spreader and attach it to the tractor
  • Spread the lime over the soybean field
  • Eliminate the weeds with the weeder when necessary
  • Harvest the grain plants using the harvester with the grain header when they mature and sell them to the highest bidder

Other Details to Consider

  • Place beehives next to a canola field to help increase the crop’s yield
  • Don't speed up time when cultivating grain, as the plants will grow unevenly
  • Spread manure or slurry after spreading fertilizer to double the fertilizer’s activation rate, increasing the yield

Best Crops in Fall in Farming Simulator 22

Canola generally stands at the top of the most profitable list of crops players can plant in the fall of Farming Simulator 22. One of its notable traits is its fairly reasonable buying price; new players can typically purchase canola seed bags at the beginning of the game using the initial funds. Canola can also be refined into canola oil to improve a player’s return on investment (ROI). Slightly falling short of canola as the best fall crop in Farming Simulator 22 is wheat. Although it's also one of the easiest crops to plant and cultivate in the game, its shortcoming generally lies within its selling price. In particular, it typically sells at a lower price range than canola. Finally, in Farming Simulator 22, farmers can still rely on barley to help increase their farms’ ROI. Barley seed bags are fairly inexpensive at the in-game shop. It also grows faster than other fall crops. However, barley doesn't sell as much as other crops this season.
