It's dangerous to go alone in Enshrouded, and that's why there are plenty of NPC pals you can find, save, and recruit. One of the most useful Enshrouded pals is the Blacksmith. He is the first NPC you'll save as you progress through the game's main quest, and he offers a heaping helping of smithing services. Here, we'll tell you exactly how to find the Blacksmith, details about his full questline, the crafting recipes he can help you with, and more.

Enshrouded Blacksmith Location in Ancient Vault (Oswald Anders)

You won't have to wait long before you're tasked with finding the Blacksmith. Once you start a new game and place a Flame Altar, you'll be given a quest titled "Find the Sleeping Survivor." This will lead you to the Blacksmith, also known as Oswald Anders. While this will put a mark on your map to show where you need to go, it can still be pretty tricky to find. You'll want to head toward the Ancient Vault in the Springlands biome. Once you get to the vault, you'll naturally want to head inside. Keep in mind that you'll encounter a small handful of Scavengers both outside and inside the vault that must be dealt with first. Don't worry, they're a low level since this is all near the game's opening. Once you're inside, you'll want to look for a large glowing container. Interact with this strange "pod," and you'll free Oswald himself! After he's been freed, you'll want to head back to your Flame Altar. The Blacksmith won't follow you, which is why you must craft a Summoning Staff. Luckily, this only requires a single Twig. Use the Summoning Staff once you have it, and you can place the good Oswald Anders wherever you like at your base. Start talking to him, and you'll begin some Blacksmith quests.

Enshrouded Blacksmith Assistant Location in Ancient Vault (Rochelle Anders)

Oswald isn't the only Blacksmith you can meet in Enshrouded. If you'd like to add the Blacksmith Assistant - Rochelle Anders to your base, you'll have to complete one of Oswald's quests titled "The Blacksmith's Family." Of course, this quest has its own prerequisites you need to meet before you can acquire. Simply work through the Blacksmith's quests, and you'll get to this one. When you do, you need to head for Fanning Ranch. It will be marked on your map, and you can find it in the Nomad Highlands. Once you're there, search the farm grounds until you come across ruined sheds. Here, you can find a corpse. It's actually Rochelle's corpse! Don't worry, collect her corpse and you'll find her soul is nearby for you to interact with. Do so, head back to your base, and you can summon her with your Summoning Staff. Rochelle might have "assistant" tagged to her Blacksmith title, but she's no less capable than Oswald. Anything you want crafted by Oswald can also be crafted by Rochelle. This means you can have more than one Blacksmith to place wherever you like at your base(s).

All Blacksmith Quests in Enshrouded

As you speak to the Blacksmith, he'll give you a series of quests. Completing these will give you XP and the ability to craft new recipes with Oswald and Rochelle. As you progress through these quests, you'll naturally have to build various smithing stations that will expand your Blacksmiths' crafting prowess.
