Roam the Core Keeper map, and you’ll eventually stumble upon Locked Copper Chests - and they have plenty of potential goodies inside. The only way to open these locked containers is by using Copper Keys. So how can you gather these keys? Here we'll cover a few reliable methods to gather copper keys in Core Keeper so you can take advantage of copper chests all across the map.

How to Farm Copper Keys in Core Keeper

Players can farm the Copper Key in Core Keeper using different techniques. You’ll find these various methods to gather this item below:

Crafting

Craft the Core Keeper Copper Key at the Key Casting Table using 5x Copper Bar. If you don’t have this crafting station yet, you can make it using 10x Plank and 8x Iron Bar at the Iron Workbench. As for the Copper Bars, smelt Copper Ores in the Furnace to obtain that item. Note that 1x Copper Ore yields 1x Copper Bar. Also, create the Furnace crafting station at the Basic Workbench using 20x Dirt Wall. Tip: Easily destroy and gather walls with a strong pickaxe like the Soul Seeker.

Fishing

The bodies of water in the Dirt Biome not only hold guppies and crabs but also Copper Keys. However, the chances of fishing out a Copper Key are fairly low. Still, it can be a surprising reward while you’re fishing in this biome.

Looting

Various chests and containers around the Core Keeper map hold Copper Keys. Open or break the following storage units to find these keys, along with a bunch of other items:

Defeating Enemies

Only a handful of enemies in Core Keeper drop Copper Keys. Hunt the following monsters to farm this item:

Orange Slime
Red Slime
Small Slime Vessel

Tip: Equip a strong endgame weapon like the Rune Song to easily kill these enemies if you’re farming Copper Keys during the late stages.

Copper Key Usage

The Copper Key in Core Keeper has only one use – opening a Locked Copper Chest. Players can typically find this chest in the Dirt Biome and Clay Caves.
