Astroneer Glitchwalkers, the game's first major expansion, adds a new planet with unique biomes and challenges. Players must also confront a new threat that disrupts the training program. Explore this new environment, master new technologies, and solve complex puzzles to thwart the dastardly plans of this new foe.

Release Date & Price

The Glitchwalkers DLC for Astroneer launches on November 13, 2024 at 9AM PST, introducing a new space, story, and gameplay. The DLC costs $9.99, and Game Pass subscribers should be able to receive a discount when purchasing it. The expansion's launch also comes with free updates for the base game, including new content, missions, and modules. Also, the storms in the Aeoluz will arrive in the base game, albeit they'll have different behavior.

Now Content & Features

New Planet

Astroneers will have the opportunity to explore a new planet called Aeoluz. This intricate heavenly body features diverse biomes and various challenges for those who are brave (or foolish) to explore its uncharted terrain. Players must first complete the mission "A Core Concept" before they can unlock a new mission chain. Completing these new missions will eventually lead Astroneers to the new planet. With the new content, players must create a new and separate save that exists in a separate level. Players that reach the mission to unlock the expansion’s content will be sent to a new screen that looks similar to the main menu. From here, Astroneers can switch between the base game and the Glitchwalkers expansion. However, it also means that progress doesn’t get share between the base game and DLC.

New Enemy

Although Astroneer is mostly a peaceful game, some hazards can hinder players from completing tasks. In Aeoluz, in particular, a rogue Astroneer has seized control, threatening anyone who disrupts this unprecedented power grab.

New Environmental Dangers

Players must navigate safely through Glitched Storms. Otherwise, Astroneers will become vulnerable to hacking.

Multiplayer

Players who don’t have Glitchwalkers can join an Astroneer server that has the expansion to enjoy it. However, the player that doesn’t have the DLC can’t unlock expansion-specific rewards, including a new pallet and suit. Nonetheless, that Astroneer can still explore the new planet and experience its new features and challenges.
