Developer Keen Games teases Update #4 for Enshrouded to be the largest patch in the game’s history. Once launched, players can enjoy various new content and features, including a new biome, weather system, and pets.

On October 31st, the developer posted a short clip on their social media profiles, showcasing the release date for the Enshrouded Update #4. This 23-second video shows an in-game character gliding through the new map. Then, the date “5th of November 2024” appears before the video ends, signifying the update’s release date.

New Content & Features

Enshrouded’s developers have been busy teasing the game’s community about what to expect in Update #4. In particular, some new content and features that are expected to be included in this fourth major patch are the following:

New Weather System

Thanks to player feedback, Keen Games introduced a new weather system to Enshrouded with Update #4. This major patch includes various weather conditions, such as rainy cold, freezing snow, and raging storms, which will completely change the gameplay experience for many players. Additionally, players will face challenges like impaired vision in dense fog, difficulty staying warm in snow, and obstacles in constructing buildings during storms. To survive in Enshrouded's harsh weather, players must adapt their bases, rebuild structures, and wear suitable clothing based on the current weather.

Tameable Creatures & Immersive NPCs

Another sought-after feature included in Update #4 is tameable creatures. In particular, players will be able to take care of pets and farm animals, further enhancing gameplay with these new friendly creatures. At the time of writing, details on their roles and interactions are still unknown, but it’s expected that farm animals will assist in tasks and expand gameplay. NPCs will also be present on the bases, adding realism and immersion to the gaming experience.

New Biome & Increased Level Cap

Arguably, the largest addition of the Enshrouded Update #4 is the introduction of a new biome in the northern mountain region. With this new snow-covered location, players can take on new quests, gather additional resources, and face more challenges. However, more dangers lurk in these new corners, which can mean that this new biome isn’t for beginners. Thankfully, players will have the opportunity to level up ten more times to unlock materials and items, enhancing their characters.
