Valheim Kall Fimbulbringer Boss Guide: How to Find Location, Summon, & Defeat
Опубликовано автором
At the top of the Deep North biome in Valheim waits Kall Fimbulbringer, the eighth Forsaken and final boss added with the 1.0 release. This frozen frontier pushes combat, preparation, and endurance to new heights, driving veteran Vikings to test their skills further than any region before it. Here, you’ll learn where to find Kall Fimbulbringer, how to summon him, and how to defeat this powerful foe.
Located in the Aesir Passage in the Deep North, Kall Fimbulbringer only challenges those who are worthy to summon him. Unlike other bosses in Valheim, where you only need to offer items to summon them, Kall demands that adventurers craft key items, enter his domain, and defeat a gauntlet of enemies before having the opportunity to fight him.
The first challenge is finding the Summoning Altar to summon Kall Fimbulbringer. Remember, each world seed in Valheim has a different layout. That also means that Kall Fimbulbringer’s exact location is different depending on the generated map layout. Nonetheless, this boss will also be somewhere in the Deep North biome.
After that, follow these steps to summon Kall Fimbulbringer:

How to Summon Kall Fimbulbringer, the Deep North Boss
The first challenge is finding the Summoning Altar to summon Kall Fimbulbringer. Remember, each world seed in Valheim has a different layout. That also means that Kall Fimbulbringer’s exact location is different depending on the generated map layout. Nonetheless, this boss will also be somewhere in the Deep North biome.
After that, follow these steps to summon Kall Fimbulbringer:
Find the Winding Tunnels
Search for the Winding Tunnels, a dungeon at the back of an Abandoned Homestead. Enter this dungeon and explore it to find the mould for the Intricate Key. Find two more of these dungeons to find additional Intricate Key molds. Then, temporarily return to your base.Craft Intricate Keys
Interact with your Forge of Potential to craft 3x Intricate Key with each unit requiring 5x Bloodgold. Craft Bloodgold using Petrified Tissue at the Blast Furnace. Remember, use Liquid Frost as fuel to craft the keys.Find the Morkhalla Dungeons
Hidden underneath large, decrepit castle-like structures are the Morkhalla dungeons. Here, you’ll find large doors that require Intricate Keys to open. Use a key to open the door, and go through each dungeon. At the end, you’ll find the Malicious Ice guarded by Krigens and Hexens. Break the centerpiece to receive the Malicious Ice.Thwart the Jotun Invasion
A Jotun invasion will appear on the map upon breaking the centerpiece containing the Malicious Ice. Thankfully, you can see the location of the assault on your map. However, the place of the invasion is random, which may require you to sail to the farthest regions of your map. Find the other two Morkhalla dungeons and thwart the remaining Jotun invasions to proceed.Enter The Prison
After defeating the three Jotun invasions, return to the location of Kall Fimbulbringer’s summoning altar in the Deep North. Equip the three Malicious Bloods into your inventory slots, and interact with the Strange Bowl at the center. If successful, the entrance to The Prison appears. Enter it, and prepare to find Kall Fimbulbringer himself.Kall Fimbulbringer Boss Guide: Tips, Tricks, & Strategies

As the last boss of Valheim 1.0, Kall Fimbulbringer demands proper preparation and knowledge of his attacks to defeat him. Start by understanding his attack patterns, which are the following:
- Chain Slam: A blockable overhead smash using one or two chains.
- Chain Sweep: A broad horizontal swing with a chain.
- Chain Whirl: Kall Fimbulbringer spins both chains, hitting players with physical and frost damage during the first and second phase, and adds fire damage to it in the third phase.
- Chain Lunge: The boss rushes forward to a player’s position to close the gap.
- Chain Rush: A third phase-exclusive attack, Kall Fimbulbringer repeatedly strikes his opponents with his chains.
- Summon Forsaken: A second phase-exclusive skill, wherein Kall Fimbulbringer summons projectiles of all seven bosses before him. Kall is invulnerable while a Forsaken still stands.
- Summon Tendrils: Kall Fimbulbringer summons rooted tendrils around the arena, which will autonomously attack nearby players. However, the tendrils aren’t permanent, and they’ll disappear after some time.
Bring Blunt or Slash Weapons
Kall Fimbulbringer is resistant to weapons and spells that deal Pierce, Fire, Frost, and Lightning damage. Additionally, he’s completely immune to Spirit damage. Among the different weapons introduced in Update 1.0, the Thunderblood Sledge, Frostfire Sledge, and Thunderblood Greatsword are strong options against this boss.Equip Heavy Armor
Despite reducing your movement speed, equipping Heavy Armor can help mitigate the damage received from the boss’s attacks. Note that Kall Fimbulbringer’s chains typically hit farther than what you may initially perceive. So, tanking hits might be a better option than trying to dodge them. With that, the Protector armor set is arguably the strongest armor for this fight.Consume High-Health Food
Since you’re going to tank hits from Kall Fimbulbringer, bring and consume food that increases your maximum health significantly. Some ideal options include the Seal Meat Soup, Meat in Bread, and Smoked Moose Meat.Survive the Second Phase
Arguably, the second phase of this boss fight is the most challenging. Despite your heavy armor, try not to get hit by every attack. After all, phase two of the Kall Fimbulbringer boss fight typically pits you against seven powerful enemies at once. On the other hand, teams on Valheim servers may have it easier, as more hands mean more opportunities to strike down the phantasms fast.Kall Fimbulbringer Loot & Rewards
Being the final boss of Valheim, Kall Fimbulbringer doesn’t reward the player with a Forsaken Power. Instead, you’ll receive the Sacrificial Blood and Crown Jewel for your troubles. The latter is an item needed to craft the Crown of Valheim, the headpiece to the Royalty armor set. Wearing the Crown of Valheim lets the wearer take advantage of a sizable 50 Armor stat. However, equipping all Royalty armor set pieces grants the following bonuses:- +5% Movement Speed
- -20% Attack Stamina Usage
- -20% Swim Stamina Usage
- -20% Sneak Stamina Usage
- -20% Run Stamina Usage
