Progressing through the main storyline of Abiotic Factor will eventually lead you to find the portal leading to the Mycofields. But where can you find this interdimensional gate? Also, what threats await you in this new land? Keep reading, as we help you locate and prepare for the Mycofields.

Abiotic Factor Mycofields Portal Location

First, take the main elevator to Level 2. Once in Level 2, head to Containment Block DIRAC. Take the first door on the right and pass through the security check area. Walk (or sprint) across the long hallway to reach another checkpoint, but this time it has a dead body on the ground and the sign “Live Fire Zone” on the arch. Pass through the gates and into Containment Block ANNING. Here, you’ll find the Tarasque. Defeat it using your most powerful weapons and receive the Tarasque Ichor, the item needed to fix the Flow Control Module that opens the portal to the Mycofields. Note: Slice the Tarasque's carcass to receive the Tarasque Ichor. Once defeated, leave the way you came into Containment Block ANNING. Return to Containment Block DIRAC and back to the main elevator. Ride the elevator upward to reach Portal Lab 04. Upon seeing fungi sprouting en masse, you'll know when you're at the right place. Press forward until you reach the Flow Control Module. Place the Tarasque Ichor in the console and return to the Portal Lab 04 viewing area. Here, hack the Keypad that requires a Class 3 Clearance. Once successful, you can now enter the Mycofields through the portal in the area.

How to Survive the Mycofields

Unprepared scientists entering the Mycofields might melt from the extreme heat. Eliminate this threat by having at least +3 to Heat Resistance. Choosing the Weathered Trait during character creation adds one level to Heat Resistance. Additionally, craft and wear the Fire Proximity Suit, which immediately grants you +3 Heat Resistance. Trade an Air Compressor with the Blacksmith at West Manufacturing to receive the Fire Proximity Suit. Craft an Air Compressor using the following items:

• 1x Canister
• 1x Pressure Gauge
• 1x Reinforced Hose
• 1x Chain

Note: The wearer of the Fire Proximity Suit receives the Stuffy Suit debuff, which increases thirst drain by 20% and decreases movement speed by 10%. Other ways to increase Heat Resistance in Abiotic Factor include the following:

• Wear the F.O.R.G.E. Chestplate and F.O.R.G.E. Pauldrons, as each armor piece grants +1 Heat Resistance.
• Consume food, like a Slushie, Rootbear Float, and Glacial Gazpacho Soup, to receive the Brain Freeze buff, increasing Heat Resistance by one temporarily.

Aside from the extreme heat, Abiotic Factor must also protect themselves from other threats while in the Mycofields. Various enemies lurk within these alien halls, such as Pests, Exors, and Exor Monks. The hostile Mushroom Peccary and Mushroom Carbuncle are also in the Mycofields. Protect yourself from the harmful spores these creatures emit by wearing any head armor that provides the Airtight Seal buff. One notable example is the Lab Mask, which you can find in various locations in the facility, particularly in Level 2. Note: Exiting the Mycofields through its exit portal grants players the Medi-Shroom buff, which grants +1 Health per second.
