Kingmakers Release Date

Kingmakers was originally set to arrive on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on October 8. However, it has now been delayed indefinitely. The development team at Redemption Road Games issued a statement on X (Twitter) stating that more time is needed to polish the game and prepare it for play. The team stated it still aims to deliver high-quality visuals at 60 frames per second with tens of thousands of soldiers clashing on the battlefield—and getting blown to bits, of course. While this news may let down eager players, Redemption Road Games also stated that a thirty-minute deep dive into the game's systems and gameplay will arrive soon. Hopefully, that's enough to whet players' appetites! The original plan for the game was to enter early access, and it's unclear if this is still what the studio has planned.

Gameplay Features

Even if the game launches in early access, you can look forward to large-scale medieval battles. With a suite of weapons and vehicles, you can cruise through battlefields while blasting the historic countryside to smithereens. In fact, you can sew absolute chaos into every battle of Kingmakers. As revealed in some extended gameplay, the thousands and thousands of simulated medieval knights aren't the game's only impressive piece of tech. You can send buildings crashing down by barreling through them with a vehicle, get tactical by blowing a hole in a wall with a grenade, or send an entire castle to its last crumbling foundations with a well-placed RPG. Why are you mowing down hordes of armored lords? Your character has arrived in the past to save the future. The high-tech dystopia you hail from is speeding humanity toward its end, and you must alter the course of history. While the game's Steam page does show clips from the dystopian future, we don't know how much of that future will be part of the gameplay at launch. Whether you're in the past or future, you'll also be able to enjoy the chaotic action alongside your friends! Kingmakers will support drop-in/drop-out multiplayer at launch, so you and three pals can jump in and out of the action whenever you want. If your friends aren't available or you simply want to focus on fighting alone, you can. Kingmakers will support solo play options when it launches as well.

Naturally, with the game aiming for an early access release, there should be plenty of updates in the future. This could take the form of new weapons, vehicles, abilities for controlling your army, and more.
