Pierre: The General Store Owner

Pierre is the proprietor of the sole General Store in Stardew Valley. As the loving husband of Caroline and father of Abigail, this hardworking gentleman provides plenty of purchasable products to players. His friendly personality also makes him the talk of the town, allowing other villagers to sing praises to his diligent demeanor. However, behind the smiles lies a worrying parent and businessman. Players who opt to build the Jojamart instead of completing the Community Center will trigger Pierre’s anxiety. If so, the General Store owner becomes worried that the competition would be too much, so that he won’t make enough money to support his family.

Preferred Gifts of Pierre in Stardew Valley

Like other Stardew Valley NPCs, it’s possible to gift Pierre up to twice per week. Another gifting opportunity opens up during his birthday on Spring 26. If so, the increase (or decrease) in the friendship level will be 8x the normal amount. Also, Pierre has unique replies depending on whether he loves, likes, dislikes, or hates a particular gift:

• Love: “This is my all-time favorite! Thank you!”
• Like: “That's very kind of you. I like this.”
• Neutral: “A present? Thanks!”
• Dislike: “This isn't exactly my favorite...”

Pierre Heart Events

Similar to other Stardew Valley NPCs, particularly the non-marriageable candidates, Pierre only has two Heart Events. The only exceptions are the random mails you get from him, which contain at least 250 gold pieces as part of his store’s “Cash-back Rewards Program.”

Three-Heart Event

Pierre sends the recipe for the Blueberry Tart in the mail. Receive the recipe to complete this Heart Event.

Six-Heart Event

Enter Pierre’s General Store upon achieving at least six hearts in his friendship level. A cutscene should play, wherein you’ll catch the NPC rummaging through his “secret stash.” He’ll request not to tell his secret to anyone, which triggers two on-screen choices:

• +70 Friendship: “Your secret is safe with me.”
• -500 Friendship: “Your wife deserves to know about this.”
