Released all the way back in 2019, Space Engineers became a huge hit on Steam. Now, it's almost time for a full reveal of the game's long-awaited and aptly named sequel: Space Engineers 2. Here's what we know about the game so far, and when you can expect to see and learn more!

Space Engineers 2 Reveal Livestream Date & Time

According to developer Keen Software House, the Space Engineers 2 reveal broadcast will air Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 6pm UTC. That means we don't have much longer to wait! Here's a quick breakdown of that reveal time for other time zones:

• 6pm GMT

What Will Be in the Space Engineers 2 Reveal?

At this point, we don't know much about what will be detailed in the Space Engineers 2 reveal livestream. We hope there will be information on a release date! What we can definitely expect, however, is more information on the game's systems and how it sets itself apart from its predecessor. Over on the Keen Software House YouTube channel, we already have two brief teasers and a slightly longer teaser showing us some of the game's new features. In the teaser, we get a look at the game's boost in graphical fidelity and a sneak peek at the following building mechanics:

• Blueprint Snapping
• Partial Copying
• Instant Undoing of Mistakes

From this snippet of gameplay, it looks like the systems in place for building space stations, outposts, and ships will be a lot more intuitive and user-friendly this time around. Yet, as the teaser points out, this focus on intuitive design hasn't sacrificed the player's ability to create unique and sophisticated designs. Also, creation is only one half of the game. The teaser also gives us a nice showing of how delightfully destructible your creations will be. While we're still eagerly anticipating the full reveal later this week, the snippet of gameplay along with the game's tagline of "Creation and Destruction Never Felt This Good" is a promising start!
