Xbox Game Pass gives access to hundreds of games, including triple-A titles and same-day releases! However, not all new titles are among the options. So, today, we answer the question, will Hytale be on Game Pass?

What is Game Pass?

Xbox Game Pass is a subscription-based video game on-demand service released by Microsoft on June 1st, 2017. Those who subscribe are granted access to a library of over 400 games, all one download away, ranging from indie games to new AAA titles released that very same day. The service has since expanded to PC and even includes direct partnerships, such as one with Riot Games.

Will Hytale Be On Game Pass?

When Hytale was owned by Riot Games, it was almost guaranteed we would see Hytale on Game Pass due to the previously mentioned partnership. However, Hytale has not only returned to being independent but also scrapped their cross-platform engine in favor of the original exclusive for PC. This has ensured that, at least for the foreseeable future, Hytale will not be on the Xbox Game Pass. We do know that it is a distant goal to bring it to consoles down the line, though. As for the PC Game Pass, it is unlikely we will see Hytale there for the time being, either. The Hytale development team has made no mention of deals with Microsoft, and being in such an early state, it may not be eligible until receiving a bit more development time. Hytale is only in early access, after all.

What Happens After Game Pass Expires?

Game Pass is a monthly subscription, so once it is canceled and expires, the games from it become unavailable. However, their save data is not deleted unless the console or PC owner personally does it themselves. Those who resubscribe in the future or directly buy the game will both be able to pick up right where they left off.
