What Are Golden Dandelions in Minecraft & What Do They Do?

Added in Minecraft 26.1, golden dandelions are a new variant of flower that can only be obtained through crafting. Once created, the golden dandelion can be fed to any baby mob to prevent it from growing, permanently leaving it in its baby form. This allows kittens, puppies, and baby rabbits to be kept as pets forever. Additionally, those who are not a fan of large bees can also use it on baby bees to have a more realistic representation of size. Baby bees function identically to their adult counterparts, unlike most baby animals (at least as of the time of writing).

How to Craft a Minecraft Golden Dandelion

A Minecraft golden dandelion can be crafted on any crafting table using one dandelion and eight golden nuggets. First, place the dandelion in the center slot. Then, place a golden nugget in each slot around the dandelion until every slot is filled, for a total of eight golden nuggets. Once complete, a dandelion with a reddish base should be available to take.

How to Use Golden Dandelions in Minecraft

Eternal Baby Animals

With a golden dandelion in hand, you can approach any baby mob and feed it. This will prevent it from growing any further! By default, a right-click is used to feed mobs on PC.

Yellow Dye

Like a regular dandelion, you can place golden dandelions in a crafting table alone to provide one yellow dye. We do not recommend this, as the gold invested will be lost.

Saturation Suspicious Stew

Finally, golden dandelions can also be used as part of the suspicious stew recipe provide the very powerful saturation status effect. However, it is not any more powerful than the one crafted with regular dandelions, making it an ill-advised investment.
