Vintage Story Update 1.23 Release Date

For the time being, Details on the exact release date for Vintage Story update 1.23 are sparse. We currently don't have a fixed release date for update 1.23. The most recent update, 1.22, was released on April 21, 2026. The update prior, 1.21, released on September 9, 2025. If this timetable between updates is anything to go by, we can probably expect update 1.23 to arrive sometime before the end of 2026. While the Vintage Story development team often provides updates on its blog, they haven't given an official date just yet.

What's New in Vintage Story 1.23?

Luckily, we don't have to wait for the Vintage Story 1.23 update before we learn about some of the upcoming content it may include. There are several other updates in the works for the game as a whole. However, the following list of updates is targeted for release in 1.23. Keep in mind, however, that not everything listed here is confirmed to arrive in 1.23. We'll have to wait for the update itself to get much closer before we find out what will actually make the cut. But don't worry — things that don't make it into 1.23 might still arrive at a later date in a different patch. So for now, you can look forward to the following potential improvements and new additions:

  • Armor will still have three slots to equip, but pieces can be layered.

  • More than 200 new sounds added to the player inventory menus.
• Pixel density consistency updates
  • To have items more reliably be the same size, whether held, dropped, or placed into the world.
