What is Minecraft Spicewood?

Minecraft Spicewood is allegedly the leaked title of the next Minecraft spin-off game. The game is set to release in quarter two of 2026, with an update slated later that year in quarter three. Spicewood’s logo also contains text similar to that found in Minecraft enchanting tables, suggesting potential magic themes. As of March 2025, secondary leaks have also been shared, revealing Minecraft Spicewood as a potential sequel to Minecraft Dungeons. They are images with one being dungeons-like gameplay and the other being a promotional image of a warden-like boss coming through the portal found at the center of ancient city structures.

The Roadmap Leaks

The information on Spicewood comes initially from a leaked image shared on Reddit that showcased a three-year release timeline for Mojang content. Specific details were not included for any of the items listed, but we were shown that Minecraft content drops will be released four times a year on a quarterly schedule, Minecraft Live will occur twice a year in spring and winter, and Minecraft will have biannual brand collaborations. Additionally, A Minecraft Movie is listed to begin streaming in quarter three of 2025 which is one quarter after its theatrical release on April 4, 2025. No dates for the upcoming animated Netflix series were included.

When Will Spicewood Be Announced?

With the alleged release date of quarter two 2026, an announcement at the first Minecraft Live of 2025 is likely. According to the leaks, this will be in the year’s first quarter. This would provide Mojang with a little over a year for marketing, trailers, and building up anticipation. However, this is merely our speculation based on leaked timelines. Hopefully, it turns out to be true!
