In fact, without iron, you'll never be able to make powerful sanguine gear from solid gold! But, before that, you're going to need lots and lots of iron. V Rising Iron Smithing Guide: What You Need to Know

Iron is one of the most valuable and versatile materials you'll find in V Rising. Once you start approaching the range of level 35-45, you'll start finding a handful of recipes that require iron. Weapons, armor, and different building items all require iron. That means you need to get your vampiric mitts on as much as possible.

Where to Find and How to Harvest Iron

Before you can get crafting, you ought to know where iron ore can be found. You can actually find iron ore scatter around the world once you go far enough north. However, you'll have a much easier time finding large quantities of iron in one specific location: the Haunted Iron Mine. This area might not be too far from where you start the game, but we don't recommend heading there until you're roughly level 35. The Haunted Iron Mine is crawling with enemies, and you have to stay alive if you want that precious iron cargo. Additionally, it's easiest to collect iron ore if you have a Merciless Copper Mace. Once you're in the mine, smack any and all chunks of iron ore that you can find, and head back to your lair. Just make sure you don't run into the level 49 Undead Commander that roams the mines! You can always return for a fight once you've secured your iron!

How to Smelt Iron

When you're back home, you won't be able to craft with iron ore. First, you need to turn your ore into iron ingots. To do that, you need the iron ingot recipe which drops from Quincy the Bandit King. This boss is level 37, and you can find them at the northern border of Farbane Woods in a Bandit Camp. So long as you're appropriately leveled, this fight isn't too difficult. Finally, with the iron ingot recipe is in your possession, head back to your castle. Now, you can finally create as many iron ingots as you like by using a Furnace!
