The Halcyon Seed in Risk of Rain 2 is a boss utility item that summons Aurelionite as an ally. Doing so gives players a better fighting chance of surviving across the game's different realms and stages. The Halcyon Seed in Risk of Rain 2 has the following effect: summons an Aurelionite ally with 100% damage and +100% health. Stacking the Halcyon Seed adds 50% damage and 100% health to the summoned being. This item is a guaranteed drop but can only be acquired after defeating the special boss, Aurelionite, in the Gilded Coast.
As mentioned earlier, survivors can find Aurelionite in the Gilded Coast. The Gilded Coast only appears after activating an Altar of Gold, which can randomly appear on any stage except the first.
Note: Risk of Rain 2 added the Aurelionite lore entry in its 2021 Anniversary Update.
Interacting with the Altar of Gold requires players to pay $200 to open the portal that leads to the Gilded Coast. Here, players must activate the four Halcyon Beacons to spawn Aurelionite.
This boss can be a problem because of her large health pool. Although players can defeat this boss normally by using attacks and skills, perhaps the optimal way to defeat Aurelionite is by a Void Reaper’s Implosion, which instantly kills anything in its 15m-radius blast.
Players must also pay close attention to Aurelionite’s attacks, skills, and behaviors during the fight, as things can go wrong quickly and easily. Thankfully, Aurelionite can be quite familiar, as the special boss has the same behavioral pattern as the Stone Titan boss. Aurelionite has the Stone Titan’s Stone Construct and Eye Laser skills and has a variation of the Stone Titan’s Stone Sword skill, wherein Aurelionite fires six fire rings in a line instead of one circular fire ring. So those who have already vanquished the Stone Titan should find it quite easy to master this exciting fight.
