The process to unlock artifacts in Risk of Rain 2 is relatively straightforward. However, players must first reach the Sky Meadow, which is always the fifth stage of every run. Once in the Sky Meadow, look for a large, circular opening in the ground. This location isn’t far from the stage’s starting point. Once found, jump into it to find a 3x3 grid with a laptop in front of it. It’s in this place where you can unlock artifacts in Risk of Rain 2. Assuming you know the code for the artifact you want to unlock, input the combination of shapes on the 3x3 grid. Then, interact with the laptop to trigger a portal at the teleporter near the grid. Enter the portal to begin a fight with the Artifact Reliquary. Defeat this special boss to successfully unlock your preferred artifact.

How to Defeat the Artifact Reliquary

Defeating the Artifact Reliquary doesn't require players to simply deplete their health using regular attacks and abilities. Instead, you must defeat the monsters that spawn in the area to get Artifact Keys. "Feed" an Artifact Key to the Artifact Reliquary to reduce its health by 25%.
