Before Version 0.6, Pal trainers would breed countless Pals to get offspring with the best passive skills. The Tides of Terraria Update has made this process easier, however, by introducing the Pal Surgery Table! So, keep reading to learn how to build and use the Pal Surgery Table in Palworld, along with the best passive skills to inject into your Pals through this new workstation.

How to Get the Pal Surgery Table in Palworld

Also called the Pal Operating Table, this new workstation can be unlocked at the Technology Tree starting at Player Level 36. It costs 2x Technology Point to unlock and requires 30x Refined Ingot and 20x High Quality Cloth to craft.

Pal Surgery Table Uses

The Palworld Pal Operating Table has two functions: implant passive skills in Pals or change their genders. Changing a Pal’s gender requires the Pal Reverser, an item that can be purchased at the Pal Arena for 35x Battle Ticket. As for implanting passive skills, Palworld players must use Implants on specific Pals that need the adjustments. Thankfully, the Pal Surgery Table has various Implants available by default, which are the following:

• Brave
• Dainty Eater
• Diet Lover
• Ferocious
• Fit As A Fiddle
• Hard Skin
• Impatient
• Mercy Hit
• Nimble
• Nocturnal
• Philanthropist
• Positive Thinker
• Serious
• Workaholic

Pal trainers can also purchase additional Implants from the Bounty Officer at the Small Settlement (coordinates 74, -487) and the Pal Arena (coordinates 633, 16). While the Pal Arena NPC needs Battle Tickets, the Bounty Officer asks for Bounty Tokens in exchange for his wares. Note that bounties can be found throughout the map, and finding one permanently marks that NPC’s location. These purchasable Implants from those merchant NPCs are the following:

• Artisan
• Burly body
• Infinite stamina
• Musclehead
• Runner
• Serenity

Injecting passive skills to Pals using the Palworld Pal Surgery Table is reasonably straightforward. First, place the Pal in your party and interact with the Operating Table. Next, select the Implant to use and press "Edit." The new skill will occupy the empty slot if the Pal has fewer than four passive skills. On the other hand, players can select a passive skill to replace if the Pal has four passive skills. Additionally, the costs depend on the Implant’s tier. The prices in Gold Coins for each operation are as follows:

• Red: 10,000 Gold
• White: 10,000 Gold
• Yellow: 50,000 Gold
• Rainbow: N/A (not currently available as of the Tides of Terraria Update)

Best Passive Skills to Implant in Palworld at the Pal Surgery Table

Since Implant choices are currently limited, players must carefully decide which passive skill to inject into their Pals. Nonetheless, some passive skills available as Implants are better options than others. These notable passive skills are the following:

• Diet Lover (Yellow): Decrease in Hunger is Less Likely by +15%
• Ferocious (Yellow): Attack +20%
• Workaholic (Yellow): Pal Sanity drops +15% slower
• Burly Body (Yellow): Defense +20%
• Musclehead (Yellow): Attack +30% and Work Speed -50%
• Runner (Yellow): 20% increase in Movement Speed
• Artisan (Yellow): Work Speed +50%
• Mercy Hit (Red): Pacifist. Will not reduce the target’s health below 1.
