What Do Horses Eat in Minecraft?

Horses can eat apples, enchanted golden apples, golden apples, golden carrots, hay bales, and sugar. However, each has different effects, and not all of them put a horse in love mode. Below, we have listed the four categories that each food may affect:

• Health: All foods fed to a horse will heal it to some degree.
• Temper: Temper refers to how likely it is a wild horse will buck you off its back when attempting to tame it. The higher a horse’s temper, the better.
• Growth: All food reduces the time required for a baby horse to reach adulthood by some degree. The default growth period without food is 20 minutes.
• Love Mode: Two tamed horses in love mode will produce a baby horse. Only specific foods activate this mode.
