How to Craft a Fishing Rod and Catch Fish in Enshrouded

One of the essential requirements to catch fish in Enshrouded is the Fishing Rod. Begin your journey to become a master fisher-folk in Embervale with the Simple Fishing Rod. Craft this item by opening your inventory and navigating to the Crafting tab. Here, craft the Fishing Rod using the following materials: 2x Twigs, 2x Metal Scraps, and 1x String. Crafting a Fishing Rod in Enshrouded is also possible at the Hunter NPC. Unlock higher-tier rods by completing quests. For example, craft the Improved Fishing Rod from this NPC using 2x Iron Bars, 1x Palm Wood Logs, 1x String, and 1x Icy Brook upon unlocking the crafting recipe. Once crafted, search for fishing hotspots, which are highlighted by apparent fish activity in the water, such as ripples and waves. Walk near the shore where you spot fish activity and equip the Fishing Rod and preferred bait. Next, press and hold the left mouse button (by default for PC users) to start casting. Note that the line travels farther the longer you hold the button. With the line cast, wait for the fish to bite. If a fish bites the bait, reel it in by pressing the left mouse button. Once caught, you can either press “E” (by default for PC users) to put the fish in your inventory or press the right mouse button to let it go.

How to Get Fishing Bait in Enshrouded: Wake of the Water

Two types of fishing bait exist in Enshrouded as of Update #7: Wake of the Water: Wild Bait and Crafted Bait. Wild Bait are lures found while exploring. On the other hand, Crafted Bait, as its name implies, is made by the player. Alternatively, you can also craft fishing bait from the Fisher NPC, Captain Melville Fontane. The Wild and Crafted Baits that can be obtained and used in Enshrouded are as follows:

Wild Bait

• Fire Fly: Find at the Springlands at night. Increases the chances of catching common fish.
• Moth: Find at the Revelwood at night. Increases the chances of catching uncommon fish.
• Grasshopper: Find at the Nomad Highlands. Increases the chances of catching uncommon fish.
• Scarab: Find at the Kindlewastes. Increases the chances of catching rare fish.
• Pillbug: Find at the Albaneve Summits. Increases the chances of catching rare fish.
• Frog: Find at the Veilwater Basin. Increases the chances of catching epic fish.

Crafted Bait

• Simple Fishing Bait: Low chances of catching common fish.
• Common Fishing Bait: Better chances of catching common fish than the Simple Fishing Bait.
• Uncommon Fishing Bait: Improves chances of catching uncommon fish.
• Rare Fishing Bait: Improves chances of catching rare fish.

Types of Fish in Enshrouded

Catching and eating fish in Enshrouded is essential to a Flameborn’s survival. Apart from preventing hunger, some fish can even be used as ingredients to craft gear.

• Common Fish: Lakehopper, Shimmerfin, and Silverback Note: Common fish is generally found in any body of water, but is more commonly caught in the Springlands.
• Uncommon Fish: Stripetail, Sunscale, and Whiskerfin Note: Uncommon fish is generally found in any body of water, but is more commonly caught in the Revelwood and Nomad Highlands.
• Rare Fish: Emberfin, Shadowtail, Waveleaper, and Crimsonback Note: Rare fish are generally found in any body of water, but are more commonly caught in the Kindlewastes and Albaneve Summits.
• Epic Fish: Shockfin (a crafting ingredient for the Electric Nerve), Thornridge (a crafting ingredient for the Fish Bones), and Yellowfin (a crafting ingredient for the Fish Teeth) Note: Epic fish is generally found in any body of water, but is more commonly caught in the Veilwater Basin.
