Additionally, console players can not install or use these addons at all, completely blocking some Bedrock players from participating.

Outside of the payment, no extra work is required, and everything is set up automatically. Console players can also participate. However, costs can get very high when attempting to create a modpack of comparable size to what third-party options get for free.
