Known as the Incarnation of the Eternal Flame, this massive Fire/Dragon Pal is one of Palworld’s most punishing bosses, especially to the unprepared. How to Summon Blazamut Ryu the Raid Boss in Palworld

As with any raid boss in Palworld, summoning Blazamut Ryu requires its specific slab and the Summoning Altar. To start, unlock the Summoning Altar using 3x Ancient Technology Point after reaching player level 33. Once unlocked, build it using 100x Stone and 20x Paldium Fragment. As for the Blazamut Ryu slab fragments, you’ll need four units. Find these summoning items as rewards inside the Cherry Blossom Cave dungeons scattered across Sakurajima Island. Complete each dungeon to find two glowing purple chests. Open the containers to have a chance to drop at least one slab fragment. Next, interact with a High-Quality Workbench or Production Assembly Line II to craft the Blazamut Ryu Slab. Bring the slab to the Summoning Altar to summon the raid boss. WARNING: The boss appears immediately after confirming the summoning, giving you little to no time to complete additional preparations. Additionally, don’t summon Blazamut Ryu or any Palworld raid boss at your main base. Instead, build a Pal Box at an open, isolated location before attempting this fight.

Note: Image courtesy of Ape Knight Gaming. As its raid boss variant, Blazamut Ryu is a Level 55 Fire/Dragon-type Pal with a massive 512,680 HP. A 10-minute timer also starts ticking down as soon as the fight starts. Failure to deplete Blazamut Ryu’s health within this period results in failure. Also, it’s impossible to catch Blazamut Ryu during this fight, but you might be rewarded with a Huge Dragon Egg that contains a tamable variant of the Pal after completing this endeavor. Unlike other raid bosses in Palworld, the fight against Blazamut Ryu unfolds in two phases:

Phase 1

Blazamut Ryu has its original typing, which is Fire and Dragon. Water and Ice attacks shine during this phase. Also, pelt Blazamut Ryu with your strongest firearms from afar to support the attacks from your summoned Pals. However, don’t be complacent, as one strong blast from Blazamut Ryu can wipe out you and your Pal team in an instant. So, avoid the attacks coming from the raid boss’s, which can include Dragon Burst, Ignis Breath, and Brawn Impact, Blazamut Ryu’s exclusive skill.

Phase 2

Depleting Blazamut Ryu’s health to 1 the first time doesn’t guarantee victory. Instead, the raid boss enters a “rebirth” phase, healing to about one-third of its maximum health. Additionally, it removes its original Fire/Dragon typing in favor of electricity. This time, Blazamut Ryu unleashes Electric attacks in all directions, paralyzing anything that they hit. The boss’s attack patterns also shift significantly, which now includes an Electric tornado. So, swap out your Water and Ice Pals with Ground-type Pals to help counter this new typing. Thankfully, you don’t need to deal with a lot of Blazamut Ryu’s health during this second phase. Ideally, it’s also wise to bring other players into the Palworld server to help you win this fight. Although the difficulty scales by the number of users in the world, your overall damage output also increases exponentially.

Jormuntide

Even with the release of Palworld 1.0, Jormuntide is still a top-tier choice when dishing out Water attacks. Apart from its devastating “wet” onslaught, this Pal has a massive HP pool, making it the idela frontline tank and damage dealer against Blazamut Ryu during its first phase.

Neptilius

Although not as tanky as Jormuntide, Neptilius has one of the highest Attack stats for Water types in Palworld. Once summoned, it can use Thalassonic Laser, its exclusive skill, to pummel Blazamut Ryu’s health to kingdom come.

Frostallion

As the icy answer to relatively all Dragon-type bosses, Frostallion is a great vanguard to help you defeat Blazamut Ryu. This flying Ice-type Pal also has top-tier HP and Attack stats, making it one of the best choices for this raid boss fight. Additionally, mount a Frostallion to take advantage of its Partner Skill, Icy Steed, which transforms your attacks to Ice, increasing the overall DPS.

Suzaku Aqua

Suzaku Aqua is a great secondary option if you don’t have enough Jormuntide or Neptilius to bring with you in this Blazamut Ryu raid boss fight. Although not as tanky and powerful as other options, Suzaku Aqua still has some strong Water attacks up its wings that can help increase DPS against Blazamut Ryu. Mounting this Pal also lets you use its Partner Skill, Wings of Water, which has a similar effect to Frostallion’s Partner Skill, albeit it transforms your attacks to Water instead of Ice.

Anubis

Once Blazamut Ryu enters its second phase, quickly swap out your Water and Ice Pals for a pack of Anubis. This Pal is a go-to choice for phase two, as its Partner Skill, Guardian of the Desert, imbues your attacks with the Ground element. This Pal also occasionally evades attacks with a flash sidestep, mitigating unnecessary damage to it during the fight.
